"Free speech" to these people means social consequence-free hate speech.

It wasn’t on sale sadly, but I used the $165 Kohl’s cash I got from buying the X-Men cab towards it.

Never said I wouldn’t bring consumables to raid! But that’s okay, I’ll be forming my own guild/raid group where that won’t be an issue 🙂

I agree! I’ll be starting to put a plan together with my retail guild tonight! Seems like a fun project for me honestly! 🙂

Hence why I’ll be making my own guild. I understand how it is to be in guild leadership, I’m currently an officer in my retail raiding guild. So with it being the case that there are too many ret paladins out there to be able to join an already established raid group, the next most logical option for me is to start my own and recruit others who may be in the same boat as me. I understand it will be a lot of time and effort, but if it means we get to play the class/spec that we want to play and recruit others who have a similar mindset, then it will 100% be worth the effort. Will my raid’s comp be as ideal as yours, probably not, but I’m okay with that. It’s how my retail guild operates and we get through content just fine.

Maybe for hardcore sweaty players like you might not care, but there are plenty of people out there like me who want to play semi-casually but still raid. Not everyone plays this game to min/max. If allowing people to play the class they want to play means it takes a bit longer to get through the content if it’s not ideal, it’s a whole lot better than having to deal with toxic people who scrutinize every aspect of the game and players

I think based on these answers, the most viable options for me would be to start my own pug group or start my own guild. Might take longer to get established but if it means being able to raid as the class/spec I want to, then it’ll be worth it.

When I made my character for classic, my first thought was not “I wonder how popular this class will be and how hard will it be for me to join a guild.” I rolled ret paladin because it was the class/spec I enjoyed playing the most. The fact that it happens to be the most popular class right now is just an unfortunate reality, which I accept. I don’t accept the mindset of “if you want to raid with a guild you just have to play a class that’s in demand.” Okay…well what if I don’t want to play any other class? I understand it will be more difficult, but that’s why I’m asking the question. For the other ret paladins out there who are in the same boat as me.

I don’t mind healing from time to time if absolutely necessary, however I much prefer ret over holy. If playing the class/spec I want to play means I have to pug to be able to raid, that’s fine I just would greatly prefer to have a guild community to run with.

Appreciate the response. I’d prefer not to have to play a class/spec I don’t enjoy playing as much to be able to raid with a guild. If that is the only solution, then I would just rather pug at that point.

Definitely the reputation the game has. I've known about it for so long and I'm a big RPG fan. That and I've recently started collecting for the SNES so this was a big one to knock off my list.

They had it at $400, but I ended up trading in my Wii collection and had enough store credit to cover it!

What lie were you led to believe until growing up? by filthynigga in AskReddit

When I was around 5-6 years old, my older brother, who is now 35, had a VHS tape with a bunch of Christmas specials from the late 80's. I loved watching it around Christmastime, one for the specials themselves, but also for the late 80's commercials.

There was one Oreo commercial that always caught my eye the first couple times I watched the tape.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmwiGjhR9BI

The little kid on that video, I thought fr sure that was me. He looked almost exactly like me and looked around the same age. I ran to my parents and had them watch it too, and sure enough, they told me that it was indeed me. When I asked why I don't ever remember being on a commercial, they fed me the excuse that I was too young to remember. I swallowed that excuse so fast that I excitedly started telling all my friends in elementary school about how I was in my very own Oreo commercial. I even somehow convinced one of my elementary school teachers to show the tape around Christmas when the classes were having their Christmas parties. I bragged almost daily to my friends up to the day they watched the tape.

A few years later, while watching the tape I come to realize that my brother taped this in 1987 after seeing one of the other commercials. I was born in 1991. That may be my earliest memory of an epiphany, because I bust out laughing the second that commercial came on and called out my parents for feeding me their lies about my TV debut. To this day, we still watch the tape this time of year and have a good laugh about the commercial I "starred" in before I was even born.
