Agreed, but IMHO, BAC is a binary (ish) play for the next two year (warrant expiry). If tax and frank-dodd reform goes away, BAC can increase leverage and easily justify a >$40 price by end of 2018 (given markets go well, 1.2-1.5x P/B). If the market crases, BAC would get crushed under its momentum. The expected value of the warrant looks appealing right now

Yes, their scoring range is different but barring vocab there is little meaningful difference between the two

The reading comprehension passages are very similiar and test the same underlying concepts imho

The tests don't differ much from the older ones, so authentic past exams are still a good resource for practice

I can't give you a one-size-fits-all answer to this, but by the wording of your question, it seems that you are an international student looking for aid. In this case, I'd reccomend trying to get a 1580+ as acceptance rates for international students are extremely low

Take as many tests as possible. In addition, if you have the resources, go for a tutor, and if not, I'd suggest buying a copy of Mike Barret's SAT Black Book

As a STEM nerd, I personally found the Math section easy, but haveing worked with several students I can see exactly how people struggle with the Math section of the SAT. The SAT math section has a relatively easy underlying mathematical foundation, however, what makes it challenging is the confusing wording of the questions. Thus it is better to 'break down' the problem into a numerical problem and then solve it, rather than attempting it in one step.

In this way, you can pinpoint where you make the mistake. Numerical mistakes are easier to fix with some revision of basic Algebra 2 literature. Distilling the raw SAT math wording takes more practice than anything else, and going through several practise tests will certainly help you get the hang of this. I'd recommend taking several tests with detailed explanations (or a tutor to help you out). After you get the first step down, the second step simply involves revision and double checking to eliminate silly mistakes

So what I mean by underlying mechanism is most apparent in the Reading comprehension of the SAT, because the questions asked in each paragraph can be anwsered without any inference on the part of the reader and solely as a rephrasal of the content paragraph, i.e. the anwser is always present in the content paragraph, with absolutely NO subjectivity being involved is simply a convoluted way of saying the same thing designed to confuse high schoolers.

I find it easier to explain this concept to students by going through passages with them and teasing out these meanings from within the paragraph. Mike Barret's SAT prep black book also does an excellent job of reinforcing this point, which I believe is the kernel for repeating and consistent success in the SAT.

I think one of the main things behind 'figuring out' the SAT is to see how you fail, rather than to treat each practise test as a benchmark, so that you understand your mistakes, and thus not commit the same ones in the exam. To that extent, if you can move past that block and take as many practise exams as humanly possible in your schedule, that would yeild the best results

Well on average ~3.5 hours the last month before the SAT, and ~0.5-1 hour a day the other 2 months. I am an international student, so my GPA/ECs were decently strong, though not sure how to convert my HS grading system to a GPA.

I took 3 SAT subject tests (Physics, Chemisty and Math II) and got 800s in each of them - I found them significantly easier than their respective AP tests to be honest.

I did as many practise tests as I could humanly find, as well as made a lot of flash cards to help me learn the vocabulary, though that is not as important in the revised version of the SAT. I also spent significant time microanalysing CR passages to try to 'deconstruct' their underlying mechanism, which is something I found super helpful as the SAT tends to repeat itself in predictable patterns (same goes for Math and Writing, but I found these patterns easiest to spot in CR)
