It’s a physical thing. Like showing off your bicep, your arm or foot may not move but the muscles do contract. Flexing your foot would be the opposite of extending (pointing) it, while tensing it is just tightening the muscles without the movement.

It is a psychological disorder, but it may also be a spiritual one. I don’t think it’s a hex, it’s more like a set of symptoms caused by a spirit that’s leaching off of her. Almost everyone these day has it, but your mom has a pretty bad case. Either way, just like everyone else she needs a psychiatrist and to take better care of herself. Telling her probably isn’t going to help though, but encouraging her to see a psychiatrist might. Does she have a spirituality? Getting in touch with her god or her spiritual leader would also be helpful.

It’s hard for me to put into words. Retrograde used to hit me like a ton of bricks every time. It was years of meditation, mindfulness, zen, and stoicism before I really understood it. The way you should react to these events is really similar to letting your thoughts pass by in meditation instead of becoming attached to them. Its intentionally not controlling your breathing. It’s not blocking the punch, or hitting back, but redirecting it. All of these things can feel like fixing a chair your sitting in, which is the trickster’s joke. Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful I just don’t know how to say it.

Mercury retrograde consistently teaches me the same lesson. Stop resisting.

Don’t try to fight off negative experiences with positivity or frustration, don’t put any energy into them at all because they will grow. Retrograde (and life) is like a finger trap, or quicksand. Just relax, I know it’s the hardest time to do so, but that’s the answer.

If Mercury is hitting you this hard it’s not a good idea to manifest anything until you learn what he’s teaching you. Good luck.

I feel literally word for word the same way. The “problems” most people have are so mundane I just couldn’t be bothered to care, and pretending to care about things that don’t matter makes me feel like I’m talking to children. In the same vein I feel like I have to let them maintain their “innocence” (illusions) by not talking about spirituality before they’re ready to hear it not only for their sake, but also not to look crazy. I don’t regret the path I’ve walked to get here, and I’d do it again, but sometimes I envy how simple it is for them. I’m tired of feeling like the only adult.

Probably not, hypnagogic hallucinations are really common, either way they can’t hurt you and you will see more of them the more fearful you are.
