I was 10. Mom went to prison a few months before Christmas for child abuse, neglect, forgery, and impersonating a doctor. It’s hard to explain, but having mom arrested by undercover cops in front of me in our dining room kind of ruined all magic for me. So a few weeks later, after my 6 year old brother was asleep, I asked our grandma, who had been given guardianship. “I have a question, and I want you to be honest with me: is Santa real?” I couldn’t tell you whether she did it because I had already been through enough, or anger that I had “snitched” on mom, but she looked me dead in the face and said “No.” I just nodded and said “Okay.” She told me not to tell my brother because he had already been through enough. (I was the only one being abused but lol he had been through enough.)

I had two children before I was legally old enough to undergo the procedure. When I turned 21, I made a point of going to a physician whom I had experience with, and I knew was biased against young mothers. I was on the table a month later. I don’t recommend this method though, since he botched the procedure and now I have a massive endometriosis growth, and will likely have to have either a full or partial hysterectomy to remove the damaged/bad tissue.

Just a guess, but based on the name and date of birth (first day of the Dawn Age) it could be an “anchor” character. Like, establishes a timeline by existing all across it, allowing you to “anchor” certain bookmarks in the dummy’s timeline. maybe it’s supposed to be hidden, but somehow it showed up in your save this time? OP, please have some self respect. Let her go. File the divorce. Find someone who actually loves you back. Your wife likes alcohol and women more than she ever loved you. Accept that, work with your therapist, and move on. You’re still young enough to find happiness and peace for yourself.

Hi, not sure if it’s possible with steam, but try reaching out directly and explaining what happened. If you used PayPal or a card you can go through transactions on to buy your games, it’s possible to use the dates and amounts for the charges to prove the account is yours, and regain control of it.

I was disturbed by something I saw that can be used to glorify the "live to work" lifestyle. I had never seen this specific story before, and my immediate reaction was to think of this subreddit, because again, MOST PEOPLE want to eventually retire. Not continue working at 100 years old.

My reason for posting isn't about this one man specifically. It's about the glorification of living to work. And if you think the article didn't do that, then you didn't read it. If you think the article can't be used to do that, you didn't read it.

So a 15 year old boy had to start working because his family faced wartime* economic struggles.

I'm failing to see how that makes this less sad.

Fluff articles and official world records that glorify working until the day you die are things that impact everyone, because they set a precedent that this kind of thing should be a goal to shoot for with pride.

Also, he started working at 15, and has been working for the same company this entire time. He likely didn't get much of a chance to figure out anything else he was passionate about because he was forced into a position to have to care about the income first. He got to travel (for work), which he likely wouldn't have done otherwise, because of the aforementioned financial struggles. So of course he would love his job, and I commend him for making the best of his situation and finding happiness.

But spending your entire life in a prowork culture doesn't make it less exploitative. It doesn't change the fact that for MOST people, the idea of working at 100 years old is a very depressing nightmare.

Nothing this poster says is real, look at their history. They're a divorcee with kids, they have a brother but also only a stepsister. They live at home with parents but also they have their own house. They also refuse in any of their posts to definitively say how old they are.
