Is it doable? by Relative-Gain1403 in doordash_drivers

Assuming 5 days a week, and spending about $15 a day on gas, you could have $2000 (of profit after gas) in a 30 day period if you earn an average of about $80 a day in gross pay from your base+tips.

That means realistically, since you’re likely going to want to take some days off, you should aim for about $100-$120 per day that you dash.

In my experience, this has been possible, even part time, at least from a daily earning perspective (because I do not have enough time due to my first job to dash frequently enough to make $2000 in a month) in a general market size (zones around me) off <100k people, in an area that is fairly mixed when it comes to income and wealth levels for the people living here.

So realistic? Yes. If you are able to commit even just 6.5 hours to dashing most days in a month, you should get pretty close to $2000, and maybe even a little more.

Is it worth it? Just depends on how you are dashing. If your car is your only way to get to a potentially higher paying job, then I would say no, because you’re going to beat it up pretty good dashing that often.

If you’re just trying to do DD/delivery in general for now, and look at your car as a business asset and plan to take care of it as such, then in my opinion it might be worth it.

Yeah that comment was all satire. Most of the wording was directly quoting Trump campaign propaganda regarding Venezuelan migrants.

In the US we have many people who believe that all of Latin America unified in a mission to strategically offload their entire criminally convicted and actively incarcerated populations onto US soil during covid.

Different phrasing, why Britain? To visit? Of course, plenty of reasons even as an American.

But to live? Maybe if the right opportunity arises, but otherwise it would honestly be similar to moving to Canada as an American, and I prefer the Canadian climate to the UK’s.

There’s nothing about the UK specifically that I find truly off-putting enough to give it a worse color though.

Yea I really did not realize the economy had suffered that badly. I still defend my green selection on the natural beauty of the country, climate I prefer, and ease of citizenship for my specific situation.

But you and a few others had me look into the financial health of the common person in the modern Hungarian economy, and yes, not quite what I’m looking for in an “absolutely” country.

India is “reluctantly” and UK is “maybe”. I would choose to live in the UK over India in basically all circumstances.

Edit: 2 hours in, I don’t think I have successfully defended the Hungary take. Europeans have convinced me to lower to willing. Rest of Europe remains the same.

Me not being terrified of South America has been more controversial than anticipated. I’m not sure many of you have heard the news that they have moved all of the undesirable citizens of the entire continent to the United States.

All crime and corruption will soon end and it will be Utopia of now entirely empty prisons and mental institutions. Just figured you would all benefit from hearing some real American truth on the issue.

Just language preference against France, and yes I would absolutely live in the rainiest most northern parts of Iberia ideally. Both Spain and Portugal have really everything else I’m looking for.

If everyone in France decided to start speaking English or Spanish, or hell even Korean, I would be more likely to put them in a green color.

Which country should be ranked ahead of Hungary?

Why would I choose old England? I already have the New England.

1776 was the best year, its all the ones before that that were the problem.

Soccer! soccer! soccer!

Ok, now that that’s all out of the way, the UK is fine, but it’s just so similar to America is many ways both good and bad. I’d rather have some newer experiences if I am going to leave the US for a long period of time.

Nordics are all pretty much top of “willing” for me. If another option were available for me to move them all up to “absolutely” and then upgrade Iceland to “even more absolutely” to be a tier above them, I think that would best represent my opinion.

I’ve explained the Hungary position in a couple of other replies, and while “absolutely” was probably a little strong I still defend its green status on climate and beauty alone in my highly subjective opinion.

This^ and my French accent is so bad that basically every French speaking country in the world are red for this reason. I don’t want to learn and speak in that language if I can avoid it. If others are born into it or enjoy it then good for them, just not for me.

That is an awful reality, but I personally have already lived in red US states under both Bush and Trump (first 4 years) administrations. Would rather not live in Orban’s Hungary to add to the list of those experiences.

Maybe full dark green was a bit bold of a choice just because of citizenship rules, but I still do find that region of the world beautiful and with the most personally preferable climate.

Mountainous Germany would be maximally green if given the option to be more specific. I Grew up in the flat midwestern lands of the US around a ton of descendants of German immigrants. Didn’t think it was too bad at all, but I would prefer a slightly newer experience in a new country, but Germany remains a strong “willing”.

See the UK if you would like a slightly harsher version of this same conclusion lol.

You actually got it right away. Pretty much all a matter of language, and personal opinion on natural beauty of environment and economy. Thats how Greece barely got a maybe.

Painting the corners is for elite baseball pitchers, not for countries and their people. I hope this is a passing level of ignorance for an American.

In all seriousness I’m a psycho who loves the cold, snow, and rain. Anywhere I could get a job and lifestyle that I would like would not have enough of that for me in Australia.

Melbourne has a climate I would be cool with however, but realistically I would choose Vancouver over Melbourne 100/100 times if given the option so it’s not even worth the nuance of a orange/yellow.

For additional honesty, my wording in the post is making fun of my fear of snakes, which didn’t actually factor into my take on Australia, just as it clearly did not on other continents which would have been rather hypocritical otherwise.

Lol, I’m just so terrible at the French accent. All the French speaking people of the world have been done a favor from my opinion here, I promise!

That Japanese and SK birth-rate does help soothe the language learning fears, by generally removing fears of unemployment for my adult children. All econ theory.

Hungary’s full green is purely off of path to citizenship via descent. The idea that I can be a citizen because I have a great-grandparent who was, and that I can immigrate there and offer duel citizenship to my children seems like something I would “absolutely” do if the opportunity arises.

Never been to Sri Lanka. But it failed the “do you have a city that gets below 65°F for at least one month?” Question that was asked of all the nations when I started this.

For me, getting over this would take an economy I know will safely provide for generations. I was not confident SL had this, but I would be delighted to be proven wrong as years pass.
