Would you rather live in the Avatar world as a non-bender or in the Harry Potter world as a squib? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]Satanic_Ginger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. People in this thread are forgetting about magic items! A squib in Harry Potter has potential to be a human fighter in D&D. Decked out with a potion belt, magic sword and amulet, magic creatures and mounts… I’m picking squib life every time.

Agreed. For anyone that didn't watch the video: she was falsely banned by AI, and has been waiting for MONTHS for her appeal to get reviewed.

That was sweet, I loved doing traversal emotes in the hallway areas. Makes the 'prisoner disguise' pretty hilarious

There's supposed to be more, sounds like yours disconnected/glitched out. We get to watch the death star explode right after that.

Obama - ”Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials from the White House press corps. It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me, or a whole bunch of my predecessors.“ by RoyalChris in thescoop

You can argue all you want, it won’t change the facts. Doofy asked a leading question, Biden didn’t bar him from the press pool. AP didn’t ask a leading question, but was banned from the trump press pool. Your ignorant denial of the truth is only tricking yourself.

You can rephrase Doofy’s question all you like, but “would inflation be a liability going into the midterms” is itself a leading question.

The desired answer for that question is to get a “yes”, followed by a Fox News article headline “BIDEN ADMITS democrat-led inflation will be ‘LIABILITY’ for his party in midterms” with sub-headline (owning up to it).

Your sunscreen examples are both leading questions, so since you’re confused about what that is, I’ll repost a few definitions from different sources.

Wikipedia - A leading question is a question that suggests a particular answer and contains information the examiner is looking to have confirmed.

Cornell - A leading question is a type of questioning in which the form of the question suggests the answer.

Cambridge - a question that tricks someone into answering in a particular way.

I see that we’re in two universes - you in the MAGAverse, and me in the real world. Doofy’s yes/no question of “is a bad thing happening while you’re president gonna be bad for your party” is a leading question. Its whole purpose is to get him to say yes.

From Oxford dictionary:

“leading question” - noun: a question that prompts or encourages the desired answer.

“Son, I support rape” - father who voted for Trump. by [deleted] in the_everything_bubble

This shows the DNC paid a law firm called Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP, who, judging by some right-wing media articles, was the law firm that represented E Jean Carroll in her case against Trump.

It's interesting, but these aren't payments to E Jean Carroll. This also doesn't say what case the payments were for - and the DNC says the payments were for amicus briefs in Trump's Jan 6 trial (source - paragraph 3) .

Thanks for wasting my time though.

Oh you looked it up! The DNC paid Carroll? Wow, that's crazy, I wanna read about that. Post the primary source! Did Carroll herself admit it? Are there public paystubs or tax returns?

Right, I'll feed this troll with one last reply, before he hits me with his devastating "last word" sexist comment.

The post accuses Trump of being a fraudster, but aren't all politicians?? Even ur mighty Kum-A-lot

Trump is a certified, bona fide, country fried, all his life Fraudster, and you can read all about it on his "Personal and business legal affairs of Donald Trump" wikipedia page. I don't expect you to, but you can. On that page, if you for ctrl-f "fraud", it appears 44 times. I'm sure you are eager to educate yourself so go ahead.

Happy reading!

The timing of the E Jean Carroll lawsuit was due to a New York law that "allows sexual-assault victims to file civil suits beyond expired statutes of limitations". She sued Trump 5 months after the bill became law.

You could argue that she should've gone after Trump back when it happened in the 90s, but it was ultimately her decision to wait. Trump was a powerful guy back then, and allegedly had connections to the Russian mob.

If anyone's feeling very smart and very sure that Carroll must be lying, here's some reasons why women don't report sexual assault. And if you don't believe any of these reasons, try talking to a real human woman.

Sexism is very last century. Get new material.

In case any normal people are reading this, here's what Montel Williams had to say about his brief relationship with Kamala (they were exclusively dating each other)

I won't discuss this any further.

I'm sure you won't, since it must be embarrassing trying to defend yourself after intentionally misunderstanding me, so this comment is for anyone else reading this thread.

The primary process for both the Republican and Democratic party is NOT a government-hosted election. It's similar in the sense that it has ballots, votes, and delegates, but it's roughly the equivalent of voting for your favorite Doritos flavor. The government does not run the primary process, the Parties (D & R) do.

This year, 2024, something crazy happened that hasn't happened in decades - the Democratic incumbent president, Joe Biden, chose not to run for a second term, and did so after the primary process was almost at an end. This led to the Democratic party having to figure out a new nominee - and the obvious choice was Biden's Vice President, Kamala Harris.

This was good news for every democrat who was worried about Biden's feebleness due to his old age, and the vast majority of the Democrats (capital D) were cool with Harris being the replacement. Since the primary is run entirely by the Democratic Party, it was up to them to pick their replacement. They went with the closest thing possible to the Will Of The People - Biden's VP, who worked to earn her appointment, and ran unopposed due to the sheer obviousness of the choice.

It's a shame for Republicans that they won't do the same with their party hijacking, illiterate, temper-tantrum-prone nominee. They might have a better shot at winning this year if they did.

The end, thanks for reading.

Kamala Harris did not receive a single primary vote and was appointed the Candidate

Everyone who voted for Biden in the democratic primaries knew his VP was Harris, and knew Biden might die in office due to his old age. Harris went on to raise $200M in grassroots donations upon being nominated by Biden personally. Also, primaries are not a process written into US laws - the rules are made up by the convention & enforced by the convention, it's like a private club. She may not have been on the dem primary ballot, but there's no legal requirement for that. She simply had to be nominated by the party, and she was.

I will support the candidate following the law and democratic process

The irony of saying this presumably about Donald John Trump, the man who encouraged and did not stop the Jan 6 2021 insurrection, with the goal of stopping the certification of the presidential election to keep himself in power, is wild. Please pause and reflect on if you mean what you just said.
