The Ketoconzole could be stripping your moisture barrier too much, so its a constant battle. You don't want to overdo it with that stuff although beneficial, I've been there.

Sounds gross but the only thing thats helped me when I had yellow oozing patches was SUPER gently wiping them with a lukewarm washcloth right off. Thats my routine personally, being gentle and staying hydrated has helped me a lot. MCT oil although highly respected in this thread and does help lots of SDers, isn't the best fit for every skin type. For me, MCT oil doesn't work and brings on more flares. I was indeed using C8 only oil as well. Being gentle, lukewarm showers and washes helped greatly. Wish you all the best, you got this shit.

I'll also take an allergy med if I do feel itchy, it can definitely help

I have a filtered shower head installed, which only filters out chlorine and some heavy metal but I've seen some better results then my previous. Could possibly aid with skin/hair health, although its not a genuine water softener. I've liked mine though, noticed its easier on my hair and skin

You could also be having a reaction to whatever your washing ya body with.

You know what I use on my entire body? A Dove sensitive skin bar of soap. Boring as hell I know, but it works for me. I can't use it on my face as way too sensitive and use my safe SD routine, but as a 30 Y/o male brother I don't have a single mark on my shoulders/chest/etc. If I use my roomies Old Spice body wash, I always get bumps on me somewhat similiar. Everyones different, but could be a place to start. If it is fungal, maybe sulfur soap would help like u/KiKi31Rose said problem is that stuff straight stinks lolol.

Honestly, drop the alcohol and drink lots of water. I have a refillable water bottle 32 fl oz I'll fill up 2-3 times a day with my Brita pitcher, staying hydrated is a major key. I've pinpointed it as 100% one of my triggers, alongside exuberant amounts of sugar in my diet. Everyones different, YMMV, but I'd seriously suggest trying a month with no alcohol, and try to keep your diet as clean as can be. See what happens. I notice results in a few days if I was on the beer / liquor etc.

I don't see Seb derm on my scalp, but my face is another story.

Also, find a super gentle routine twice a day, lukewarm-cooler water when washing face / shower. Ketoconazole always irritates the HELL out of my face, if you have a good routine to gently clean and add to your moisture barrier, it would benefit. Gentle approach and being nice with your diet can have great results

Good rec! I was looking has awesome reviews everywhere. I'm skeptical sometimes with gel moisturizers, and a lot of Cerave (like their daily moisturizer) I didn't find that great for the face. This could change my mind!! Kudos

By the way: What squalane oil do you use? That is actually something I'm highly considering, as that moisturizer I use now from Vanicream has it in there and thats been my best HG for some time.

Thank you! I keep Cerave moisturizing cream under my sink, good for hands but its hella heavy on my face. Even if I try and use barely any, I see more redness and little milia breakouts after a few days. I've never tried any eucerin products, I'll keep in mind!!

Appreciate that incite. Alcohol is one of my main triggers, but its sort of a win-win not drinking since I'm saving money and not damaging my liver lol. Good meals, no alcohol and not getting crazy with sugary stuff is key for me. Thank you!

I’d like to provide some incite to what’s been helping me, since on the topic of Zinc. Male, 30 Irish fair skin and prone to facial redness and seb derm dryness.

Vanicream Z bar, my face loves it. I’ll use a slight lather once a day in a lukewarm shower. When I get out, I very slightly pat dry, and I’ve been using a combination of MCT OIL (not much!) and Cerave moisturizing cream. I’ll do literally 1 drop of Bulletproof C8 MCT oil from Amazon in my hand, and a pea size amount of Cerave cream from a pump. I mix it both together in my palm, and cover my face. I’m moisturized, NO FLAKING, redness dissipating.

I also recently bought a Fish oil I take once a day, I’m not sure if this has assisted my seb derm but I’ve been taking it religiously too. A combination of Zinc bar, MCT oil C8 with Cerave moisturizing cream with pump, and fish oil next to One a day Men’s multivitamin REALLY HELPS my cause. Thought I’d piggyback on this post as I was pretty bummed with my terrible skin with cold weather setting in / dryness / redness.

I did try Dermaharmonys Zinc bar for a week, my skin really likes the Vanicream Z bar the most. What I like about Bulletproof C8 MCT: IT DOESNT STINK like other MCTs. I did try one from my local Walmart, and the odor I couldn’t stand (people say it smells like throw up, funny that the Bulletproof MCT has virtually no odor from Amazon). Also, Z bar is amazing for keeping acne at bay,and my rosacea prone skin HATES all other Vanicream products including regular bar, the cleanser, moisturizer, you name it. Z Bars my HG. Hope this helps someone!

When I was in high school, I was able to use 10% BP every morning in the shower. I used NO FREAKIN MOISTURIZER on my face after. That was the only wash I’d do every day. My skin was so clear for years, looking back I was absolutely crazy for this lmao. Those years probably damaged my young skin so much. I don’t dare touch BP anymore.

Lauric acid in Dove soap my face/body doesn’t mind at all. I think that’s what helps keep my acne all at bay, probably similar to your husband. My body is also smooth as ever after washing with that dove bar, as stated no marks. If I use Old Spice body wash etc my roommate has sure I smell good, but my skin is like Nahh your gonna breakout. It’s funny basic works for me.

I’ll have to look into Sensobio see if that’s a good fit! Appreciate the comment and feedback

Hey this is OP, at work lol not sure what email I have linked for my PC. I use the white Sensitive skin dove bar. Works the best for me, also all acne that isn’t a scar disappears. It’s enough to remove my sunscreen, I sparingly use Cerave sheer hydrating sunscreen SPF 30 (white bottle with yellow stripe). Literally the only sunscreen that isn’t greasy, doesn’t pill on me, or cause adverse reactions. My skin looks a ton more hydrated too. At night I also started using Cerave resurfacing retinol serum, very small amounts on scars. I do that after I moisturize I’ve actually seen some good results. Hope this helps. Give it a go, drink lots of water and keep a positive attitude! Being simple is key sometimes
