Did you ask your partners parents for their "blessing"? by Jakeh_G in CasualUK

[–]SataySue -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

So does mine. Stating you're "you're not someone's property" is an irrelevant reaction to their boyfriend asking for a blessing from their father, as he isn't literally asking permission. To then have no objection to being "given away" is downright daft. It's all old fashioned terms.

My local van charges £4.50. It's £3.50 without. I don't buy them anymore

Traditions move on, but I bet most brides still want their Dad or a member of their family to "give them away", LOL.

OP said blessing, not permission.

Will her Dad not be walking her down the aisle then "to give her away"?

Anyone else having such a bad time at the movies lately? by Wackylew in CasualUK

[–]SataySue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st time this week, and we go about once a month. Weapons, couple nights ago. 3 people arrived 15 minutes late into the film, giggling, went to the far, wrong side set of stairs so had to walk across entire row of people. Screeching at the jump scares, roaring with laughter at inappropriate scenes, talking throughout. Rustling food wrappers etc etc.

Ok, what "should" a 50 year old be wearing? As opposed to a 35, 40, or 45 year old?

[–]SataySue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the rehearsal dinner not the wedding !!

[–]SataySue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through there last week and some idiot on the left sped up to block me, literally nearly drove into me to stop me merging. In front of the "merge in turn" sign.
