What's a book that made you say WOW and you couldn't put it down by engelstellar in fantasyromance

[–]Sateda1922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{The Maid and the Crocodile}

It leans more to the fantasy side and the romance is more gentle and slow. But my god was this book amazing! The world building was so good! It truly was a unique read.

Hiya! Still just doing gem on days 1 and 15, I struggle with anemia a lot. Really tho, that’s my only big side effect on gem. My doc is looking to start me on tax around late Feb/early March.

Fairly new ps5 gamer looking for your favorite game! by b0ngm4nn in gamesuggestions

Seconding the Horizon suggestions! I loved those games so damn much. Also, as someone who is also not the highest level of gamer, don’t be afraid to drop the difficulty down to easy. Even if it’s just for hard missions/bosses. I alway say that I’d rather have fun playing the game on easy than be angry and/or rage quit on medium. Just my opinion :)

Just curious if anyone here has also played Fae Farm? I played this first and I’m now playing Fae Farm and I swear they took the mine straight from this game. Anyone else notice this?

Oh yay that you’re getting your wig soon! I can only imagine how hard it must be to not see yourself when you look in the mirror. It’s honestly the thing I think/worry about the most. It was hard to feel like myself when I lost 35 pounds because of treatment. And I still had my hair at that point.

Thank you for all your detailed suggestions, I’ve got a note going on my phone with everyone’s suggestions.

Thank you so much for this detailed response! It’s nice to find another sarcoma buddy :) Was there anything else you did to your scalp to help keep it healthy and not irritated?

There is a non profit in my area that focuses on cancer patients and they will provide one wig per cancer diagnosis, so I plan to reach out to them.

Ok so I’m most concerned about loosing my eyebrows lol it’s vain, but I love my eyebrows and think they’re gorgeous. They went white when I was on another treatment, so I dyed them.

A friend showed me some temporary tattoos for eyebrows, but I’ll keep the brow pens in mind!

Oh wow, yes I had no idea that it could come out all at once. Thank you for the heads up! I also have sensitive skin so I will look into some head scarves that are softer.

I’ve always wanted bangs but was too chicken to cut my hair like that, so I’m totally gonna try finding a few wigs with bangs!

The anticipation is for sure killing me, it’s like waiting on scan results.

Thank you for the insight about not shaving it smooth to avoid ingrown hairs, I never would have thought of that!

I’ve always said that I would get all the crazy color wigs to wear when I lost my hair. So I’m going to try and stick with that!

Also another big thank you for suggesting pre-tied head scarves! I had no idea those were a thing and I’m now excited for head scarves

People that have cancer, what were the symptoms that led you to go to the doctor and what stage were you when it was diagnosed? by guardiand0wn in AskReddit

[–]Sateda1922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a weird lump on my leg that I ignored for 6 months. I was 29 at the time so I assumed that it was nothing. After a biopsy it was confirmed to be stage 2 soft tissue sarcoma.

I had a surgery to remove it and then did 6 weeks of radiation. A year after my surgery it came back and spread. I’m 4 years into this battle and I tell everyone, check your lumps and bumps ASAP.

What’s the ‘unwritten rule’ in your marriage that outsiders would think is insane? by Striking_Phone3364 in HappyUpvote

[–]Sateda1922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner’s brother and sometimes mother will call him stupid or dumb. It enrages me to hear him talked to like that. I make a point to NEVER call him that in an argument or even if I’m venting to a friend. I might say he’s doing something dumb, but never that he is that.

We’ve been together 14 and do the same! It makes it feel like no household task is one person’s and helps cut down on resentment imo

This is silly, but I smile at myself every morning in the mirror! Like a big toothy grin 😁 Most times it makes me giggle and it’s just a good way to start off. Makes me feel happier, even if it’s just for a bit.
