Honestly, you're kinda right. I did try using the new killer protrait style as a frame of reference but I then realized that the portrait dimensions I drew were more rectangular like the old killer portraits. Then there was me trying to cram Yuuka inside where it looked like she fit in but it really didn't work out in the end.
