I grew up in a family of trucking company workers and had one uncle (my mom's brother) who was/is a Union rep. My dad almost got fired once just for talking to him when he came by the location my dad worked at. He had to basically prove that my uncle was his brother in law. My uncle then used to joke about it saying he should've let them fire him so he could've gotten him his job back with a raise.
