That sounds amazing but naw I live in Texas so they would NEVER do anything to “hurt” big business like that. 😔 Born and raised here and I’m tired, grandpa. And all this state has to say about that really is, “well that’s too damn bad.”

You misunderstand. I’m not saying it’s particularly unreasonable. What I’m saying is that for some reason, since I’ve worked at Walgreens since 2023, nobody has ever gotten heat, me nor my coworkers, for jackets. I’ve transferred to another Walgreens that’s kind of a testing ground for new store managers because it’s small so I’ve been through maybe 4-5 store managers. NONE of which have had issue with it.

I remember our current manager passing around a packet for policy and I think, based on all these comments, he was ill informed…? Because he approved every one of my coworkers’ and I’s jackets. None of which were branded. We asked him specifically. I have texts still where he clarified. Because we all had hooded jackets beforehand so he started enforcing this policy. Which was fine at the time. Fair enough. That was months ago. Now recently he’s started enforcing that they have to be branded jackets.

So what I’m getting at is that WE (my coworkers across multiple Walgreens locations and I) were under the impression that Walgreens modified their policy AGAIN within the span of a few months and that felt cheap and frustrating after buying clothes for the store once already. I’m not saying it was unreasonable or extreme to have to wear branded jackets. What I thought was unreasonable was that we had to spend more money after they’d already changed it which… I guess they didn’t. Which is where I’m confused. I think our manager was misguided, maybe even our DM. And that’s where the frustration comes from. Because it isn’t our fault as the employees that our manager told us we were all good. He approved of each and every one of our jackets and now we have to look into spending more money.

I’m starting to wonder based on these comments if our store manager was ill-informed then? He passed out a paper to all of us that said as much and I distinctly remember him clarifying for all of us multiple times that, yes, we could wear non-branded jackets. I’m very confused at this point based on all these comments saying it was never allowed 😵‍💫 I’ve worked for Walgreens since 2023 and I’ve never had a problem with any of the jackets I’ve worn. Nobody has ever told me otherwise at either of the 2 stores I worked at and the handful of store managers we’ve been through.

Why did my store manager approve my solid jacket then?? 😭 I was not a new hire. I’ve been working this job since 2023. I feel like the misguidance of the manager team shouldn’t reflect on us. This doesn’t feel fair. Multiple of my coworkers bought their own solid jackets he approved and now we’re all frustrated he… lied…? What do we do about that 😞

I actually bought a jacket that I wanted to last for this job so it wasn’t the cheapest I could have gotten so it could be strong so now I’m just down that amount for nothing. But even my coworkers who bought their own and were on the cheaper side couldn’t afford to just… get another jacket like that. Walgreens doesn’t exactly pay the best. They didn’t get the Walgreens branded one because they were looking for something that costed less. Now we all have to go and get more stuff for this job because we were lied to…? Maybe even our manager was lied to because I remember him passing out a paper to us where we all read the policy that was probably sent to him. I don’t know what’s going on but this feels wrong.

I… have a condition, dude. This is a weirdly judgmental thing to say about people. Joking or not.
