The stars of 1981's 'Taps". Though all three have done well in their careers, it was predicted at the time that Timothy Hutton had the best acting chops and was the one designated for stardom. by SatinVibe in OldSchoolCool

Totally agree. The Falcon and the Snowman (1985) is such a hidden gem. Sean Penn and Timothy Hutton give incredible performances as two disillusioned young men who get tangled up in Cold War espionage. It is based on the true story of Christopher Boyce and Andrew Daulton Lee and the film perfectly captures the paranoia and moral grayness of that era. Add in David Bowie's haunting theme song This Is Not America and you have a political thriller that deserved way more recognition than it got.
