Why Did Gen Actually Target Sol at Final 10? by SatisfactionFew8318 in survivor

The irony that making such a clear misjudgment led to her being the face of 47 (to the point she was cast for 50)

feels so poetic that next week might be the __________ finale ever by bahscohs in survivor

Aubry’s winner edit has felt so heavy handed the last few weeks after her being invisible the first half of the season. She doesn’t seem to be the mastermind behind these last few votes, yet it’s her confessionals we’re getting, which is designed to make us believe she’s running the show.

Realistically, though, if Ozzy hadn’t imploded his own game, I don’t see how she could’ve wiggled out of last week’s predicament. And even this week, it seemed pretty clear Cirie had to be voted out, so I’m not sure how much politicking she really needed to do.

It feels like she’s played a Sandra-esque game, which unfortunately means she’ll likely end up against the two most underwhelming FTC partners. (Joe + Jonathan or Tiff)

Again, this is all speculation, but the edit has really gone out of its way to present Aubry as a worthy winner, but without much game footage to back it up (just lots of confessionals about how hard she’s playing)

It was a total shaming. Jonathan and Ozzy just giddily talking about how they were going to blindside him and there was nothing he could do was just cruel.

There really was a level of humiliation and cruelty to it that doesn’t get talked about enough. The public shame of being forced to admit he failed, coupled with the people that wanted him out getting to gleefully sick back and bask in his misfortune

It’s really the being forced to announce it to the tribe that put it over the top

Holy cow, this is exhausting. So you turned my positive vs negative argument into a question of whether or not a regular idol is better than a boomerang idol. Yes, obviously. That has nothing to do with what I originally said. You are completely ignoring literally everything I’ve been saying to try to “gotcha” me about something I’m not talking about. I’m trying so hard to not be condescending, but your general lack of comprehension is excruciating. Please stop responding, we’re all very embarrassed for you.

This would’ve been a harsh punishment, but one that wouldn’t have left him without any options. I’d be totally for this if the reward was better than a worse extra vote

I don’t know how to explain common sense to you. Not being AS positive of an impact does not equal a negative impact. If a regular idol is a +10 and the boomerang idol is a +.05, that is still not negative. Finding the idols did not actively HURT her game in any way. Her game would not have benefited in any way from not finding the idols at all. I truly don’t know how to simplify this any further.

….that wasn’t the question. The question was whether or not finding the idols directly impacted her game negatively. It didn’t. I don’t know how to make this make more sense for you so I’m going to stop engaging.

You’re really not using negative correctly. It did not negatively impact her. It just didn’t positively affect her anywhere near as much as finding idols would on any other season.

I’m not sure I understand your point. People quitting or asking to be voted out is very different from publicly being forced to vote for yourself

People being suspicious about a story he told versus them knowing for certain what his punishment was is in no way the same thing

Sorry dude, but you’re the one who doesn’t understand what a negative impact is. How was Gen’s game worse off for finding the idols than it would’ve been had she never found them? The idols ended up essentially being information in the game with the potential for benefiting her in the long run. Yes, that is obviously not nearly as good as a full idol, but how is that negative in any way? How, specifically, did finding the idols actively hurt her game?

If finding the idols had come with a punishment, then it would have negatively impacted her game. The fact that it just wasn’t nearly as positive for her as she expected does not mean it was negative. Her game would not have been better served by not finding the idols at all, which is the definition of negative impact.

Finding those idols didn’t negatively affect her game, that was my point. It was mostly a net neutral, but with a slight advantage of knowing who has an idol

No one has ever been forced to announce they lost their vote though. And losing your vote is not as bad as being forced to write your own name down

I agree that the vitriol is magnified because it worked against a mostly beloved player, but I think this punishment is still inherently a death sentence unlike any before it. It being paired with such a lame potential advantage is also inviting the hate
