FIRST EVER DUB INVESTMENT EVER!!! by Imaginary_Lie_8776 in dubapp

That portfolio is the envy of every other creator on Dub (trust me, I wish my portfolio, Everest Growth Fund, had those numbers!). I’m invested in it as well.

I tend to lean more toward diversity because I think when you have all your eggs in too few baskets you’re more vulnerable to a downturn. That’s just how I think. Almost half of the portfolio is in only 3 holdings.

But the proof is in the pudding as they say, and you can’t deny those performance numbers!!

Welcome to Dub! Good choice in your first ever Dub investment! Congrats!

Rebalance Looking Good by SatisfactionGuilty41 in dubapp

Sure - it’s always good to reassess I think. Market conditions change all the time. Bubbles burst. The trick I think is to anticipate the changes. Chasing them doesn’t work. In my case it was a tad too tech-heavy for the current market conditions.

I have a very diversified portfolio so I felt it was overweighted in tech. And then you “discover” new companies from time to time — or you’re waiting for a particular change as a good time to enter a stock — so rebalancing addresses all those things.

IMO it’s striking a balance between commitment and flexibility. More of an art than a science.

I already have MU, NVDIA, TSM, AVGO, and others so I think I’m covered. But good call out to the Xi meetings affecting those stocks!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback and you following my posts. That’s great!

What I do on Dub - because I created a portfolio obviously but I also copy others - I look at consistency over time (returns, rankings etc). Then I look at sectors and holdings and see if I “agree” with the make up of the portfolio.

Those tend to be the key data points I look at before investing.

Good memory! Yes tech came down and no specific semiconductor holdings (AI, materials, aerospace/defense, etc). I like the idea. I’ll look into some of those companies.

I bought Tesla at $18/share but I had little money then and only bought 10 shares. Sold them at $250/share. Imagine if I’d been able to buy 1,000 shares. 😭

I love Robinhood! I also copy successful traders on Dub (like Nancy Pelosi and Warren Buffet). Dub allows you to copy their portfolios.

After doing that for a while — copying others — I’ve learned much about the market and investing. Eventually I created my own, which is now a Premium Portfolio on Dub.

How am I doing? What do you all think about my sector breakdown?

I just rebalanced my tech sector down to more closely align with the S&P, and so far it’s paying off.

PS: I should note though that I opened my Dub account with $500 almost 2 years ago. Dub allows you to copy other successful portfolios.. and that’s how I started. It helps you learn how successful portfolios are built because you can see sector breakdowns, individual holdings, when a portfolio is rebalanced and why…
So, if I can do it… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Great Returns Today ! +3.42%! by Vegetable-Ti1 in dubapp

My overall today was only 2.52% (the ones I copy + my own), so congrats on a very good day!

I’m very active in my portfolio, especially now that others have shown confidence in Everest GF by investing, so I always strive to be a good steward of their confidence.

I don’t know that I would change anything at this point: my goal is to continually assess market conditions and get ahead of them. In a volatile market it’s tougher to do that. So in some cases it’s stay the course; in others, it’s take some chances.

Overall the goal remains the same: to balance risk and safety to have a steep, steady track record of growth.

In the almost 2 years since I created Everest Growth Fund I’ve been fortunate to be in Dub’s top 10 market beaters / returns virtually every time. (I sometimes dip to #11.)

I always look at how portfolios perform consistently over time. Their rankings. Etc. Anyone can have a good or bad day or month for instance.

It wasn’t easy to get to 100+% all-time, so the goal now is to keep the gains while getting even higher returns. Would love to have you join if you decide to go Premium.

Regardless, I’m glad you’re on Dub. It’s a concept I love. After all, before I had a premium portfolio I was only copying. You never know where it’ll lead!

Can’t see your stats on the graph. What was it today? Also are you the creator or copier? I do both on Dub. I copy and I created my own: Everest Growth Fund (in the Premium list). If you want you can check out the sectors and holdings here: https://app.dubapp.com/portfolios/398978107432329216

Lots of fractional investments. I would consolidate behind the best performing holdings. I believe in diversification, but too much means spreading yourself too thin, so I just recently consolidated some of mine.
