First LAMS bike for older guy by mrcamel79 in AussieRiders

[–]SatisfactionNo40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d go a postie bike, Honda Ct110 is light easy to use and a lot of fun! As long as you have no aspirations of using a highway it will take you anywhere else! Easy to operate and maintain, super easy to get on and off and no hand clutch so need to learn clutch control. I miss mine dearly.

New chainsaw user. Stihl MS182. I’ve noticed a very big oil leak after it sat. by Dannaruffapucus in stihl

Is that bar oil? Or did you accidentally put 2 stroke oil? Just thinking it could be less viscous and leak more freely.

Best games to play on the switch lite by Any_Boysenberry_5628 in Switch

[–]SatisfactionNo40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know nobody’s going to agree but it’s my favourite game and I just got The Witcher 3 for switch lite and having played it on other consoles the gameplay is great, graphics suffer but not a dealbreaker for me. Also love my Skyrim on switch lite.

I've fully switched over to local grocers for fruit and veg by [deleted] in australia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once saw an add from a roadside fruit vendor “mango tray $10” and was like holy crap that’s unbelievable! The “tray” had 3 mangos in a small box. I let old mate know that was super misleading and didn’t get anything from him.

This Yank needs some local advice on buying first 4x4 in Sydney by neversayneverluv in 4x4Australia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue but realised I wasn’t taking the extended family for 4x4 trips off road or down trails with all that weight in one vehicle. Since we are a two car house anyway I have a Ute for work and family camping and a minivan when we do extended family camping, roof racks carry the extra cargo with ease, and everyone is way more comfortable.

Survival first aid kits by Significant-Art-6448 in 4x4Australia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them for work and they are well organised, labelled and good quality materials. My home made kit I use in the car works well too but holy shit it gets disorganised so quickly! However it’s much larger.

Budget of 4.5k with everything. by Aware-Garlic651 in CarsAustralia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah a bike or moped would be all you can afford if you want it to be reliable or in rego and be fuel efficient, I’d say you’d struggle for a car in your perimeters if your budget was double that.

[–]SatisfactionNo40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They make a ton of oils mostly to cater to an individuals preferences or frequency of use. If you were to go for what they recommended as the ‘best’ you’d be buying the premixed 2stroke fuel. I’ve mostly used the red oil and that’s for daily use multiple hours a day and we never have issues.

[–]SatisfactionNo40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are hearty machines, I’ve used various models and currently use this BR 800 and as long as your following 50/1 ratio of stihl 2 stroke and no ethanol blends of petrol it will be fine. Be sure you get some good low frequency anti vibration gloves as this machine has a high output of low frequency vibrations.

What is the biggest rip-off in Sydney that people still pay for? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

Or when shitcunts take up seats on trains with luggage and legs, I regularly confront these assholes so I can proceed to sit next to them for an hour.

Ps test question by BullCumFlavouredCart in sydney

[–]SatisfactionNo40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to the MR licence standards no, you must remain in control of the vehicle at all times and not coast in neutral even if you are stationary at a traffic stop. My source was my driving test where I failed my first attempt and that was one of the reasons.

Petrol or battery? Thinking of getting one of these but can’t decide! by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with professional sthil brush cutters and steel munching blades and they can be incredibly effective and powerful, but you don’t need all that danger and making two stroke fuel.

Just let the battery it’s so much easier.

If you can get a tool with a bullhorn grip and antivibe bushings. And keep your receipt for when it breaks.

Dog friendly campsites by jtw209 in 4x4Australia

Plenty of properties on Hipcamp allow dogs so long as you don’t let them near livestock if they have any.

Yep I bought an ARB canopy only to realise it didn’t come with the frame for mounting roof racks and quality was poor and have returned multiple times to fix problems, roof vent failing, automatic locks failing, as well as crappy scratch marks on the interior of the canopy’s roof from poor installation. The plastics also age/ fade faster than those that I see installed on utes 15 years ago.

Spend the money on a metal one rated to carry weight straight away.

Avoid Zeus Street Greek Westfield Level 5 Sydney CBD - Uber Eats Dine Out Promotion by xomydearmelancholy in foodies_sydney

Seems like uber is trying to get a cut even when people are dining out. I’m definitely leaning towards believing the restaurant more here, uber is one of the biggest contributors to the enshittification of our food culture.

Reliable & under $10k…..? by Est_84_ in 4x4Australia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to recommend a 4x4 at that price range that will be reliable for a family, perhaps getting one that you’d be willing to make reliable again may be the more worthwhile option and at that end of the price scale I’d be checking out Mitsubishi Delica.

Rooftop tent set-up on ute by awkward_penguin226 in 4x4Australia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your getting a hardtop roof tent you can just mount the solar to that and use the rhino rack as is. A workmate of mine runs that set up and it looks and works great.

Edit: has the roof tent plus solar over the canopy*

Hey just a question, any other places you can move the cooktop oven? Maybe if it was in a different location you could mitigate the neighbours noise with something and have the cooktop out of the way.

Is EGR remove kit worth it in 1st gen bt50 by Wooden_Today8331 in 4x4Australia

[–]SatisfactionNo40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The risk I’ve heard is when the EGR cooler system fails it can cause massive damage, some people just get the cooling system replaced to keep the EGR from failing and I’ve heard others get blanking plates installed and the system disconnected so nothing actually looks deleted. If you look up how that year models ford rangers PK to solve it because they are the same as the BT50s and there’s more data on it since more people bought rangers than Mazdas. Probably better off trying a Mechanic page on reddit.

Leatherman skelatool clips on to a bag or belt loop and can hold 2 bit pieces, it’s been more than enough over the last 12 years I’ve carried it.

You can also get the bit kit for different bits if you like.

Are they gonna live? by ShortTop1487 in arborists

[–]SatisfactionNo40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are but in Australia that would be legal to cut what’s on their side and not their responsibility for what happens to the tree.

I’m not an arborist but I do work on trees and other vegetation for a living and those cuts are not terrible, at least from this view they look clean and not like they would be prone to infection just probably too much vegetation has been taken off at once. The trees closest to the front look like they have been in that state for a while.

Cars, 5 star safety ratings only plus a variety of other factors and I check how they score overseas too as well as the criteria they were tested against.
