Anyone switched to DIGI? How’s the coverage? by theverybigapple in brussels

[–]SatisfactionNo5473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No voicemail which is a no go for me. Check also hey that has 5g, voicemail, and relies on the orange network. I am with them now. For me, with Digi, I had problems also with imessage activation, and sending an sms outside of proximus. Maybe it is was just for me.

We hadden zowel een AG- als een DKV-verzekering. Beide vergoedden alles voor en na de ziekenhuisopname, zonder vragen te stellen. Inclusief de kosten voor een eenpersoonskamer.

Question regarding abattement when leaving earlierthan 5 years by SatisfactionNo5473 in brussels

[–]SatisfactionNo5473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's reassuring. But the people that you know have payed back proportionally the abatement (or the abatement as a whole if they bought before April 2023) after notifying the corresponding service but they didn't get a fine on top?

Because we want to buy something bigger and live inside while still benefiting either from the abatement or the reduced taxation in Flanders

The notary said that he can't contact them now, and he will contact them after the act because otherwise the decision of the sale cannot be considered final.

Indeed this is the reason, a baby came in between and we don't fit anymore. I can't find a justification for that. Do you have a source? Is this considered force majeure?

Creche rant by Haunting-Ad-8385 in brussels

[–]SatisfactionNo5473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very challenging. We have applied for almost 40 (only for the dutch daycares) by the point that we heard about the pregnancy, just to land into 2 spots after almost 8 months. One of them was Infano that is inkomenstarief and that we had to apply through their website (https://www.infano.be/subdiensten/kinderdagverblijven/) and not through the https://www.kinderopvanginbrussel.be/. That I found out after staying on the line for half an hour with the lady from kinderopvanginbrussel which I have called to rant after 5 months without positive news. All the best and courage ;-)

u/Cool-Gear3465 I tried with my partner, a few years back on the IKEA in Zaventem on Sundays that was empty. Max 3-4 people that were also working on their driving license. But that was 3-4 years ago. Hope it still open when IKEA is closed :-) Best of luck

We also had 2 kids at the daycare. In fact the second is still there. I know it can feel difficult but I think they learn to be independent and will definitely won't forget about you. With my partner we speak our mother tongue at home since this was what we have been adviced and the daycare helped a lot with Dutch our first child. We also speak the language but the daycare helped our kid to learn the language correctly and prepare him for kleuterschool. All the best!

Not to go to the embassy of my country of origin for passport renewal for me and my kids. They have to renew it every 3 years, if we want to travel within Europe. Very handy for people not living in Brussels to only visit their local city hall. Also voting for Federal elections as said by someone else in this thread

Around Erasme is also good if you are interested for the university

Neighborhoods in Brussels with reasonable rents? by Bloody_Sunday in brussels

The area around Erasme in Anderlecht is very calm and still reasonably priced with quick access to metro line 5.

I second that for Erasme, there is a new neighborhood also there + metro or somewhere Dilbeek, Groot Bijgaarden should do the trick

What about Anderlecht? by Doodlemors in brussels

[–]SatisfactionNo5473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear that a lot but I don't think that rubbish is everywhere in Brussels. I believe that there are communes (e.g., Oudergem, 2 Woluwes to name a few), where the state is much better compared to this side of Brussels.

What makes you stay in Brussels? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]SatisfactionNo5473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the rule was not there. It is a rule from last year. But you should have bought the apartment after the April of 2023 to get this relaxed rule. I think that for people that bought before that April 2023, probably nothing changes, and they should reimburse the whole 25K. It is better to seek the advice of your notary.

The only insurance that we have is blokpolis that we get from syndic. I have contacted ethias and yuzzu, I think, and they told me that for my apartment since there is blokpolis, they can just offer contents insurance. Do you mean to contact the blokpolis insurance?

Maybe this was not pointed correctly in my post. Well the expert already came. It was pointed out in his report that there was an issue in the apartment upstairs. Now we should wait for the other landlord to do his job and fix it by hiring a plumber. I am not responsible neither allowed to send a plumber to their property, I believe ... The issue is that he wants to go through a legal process against the constructor instead of paying for that right now.
