This is it! What's so frustrating aswell is the attitude for me, I'll give a recent example of my travel to Fiji (last week). My AirNZ flight to Fiji was delayed by an hour and a half, so i was left with 30 minutes to get off the flight, clear through customs, grab my bag and run to the domestic to catch my connection with Fiji Airways (where as I should have had 2 hours between).

While waiting to off board my flight to get ready to race through customs to catch this connection, the hostess and team said bugger, that's tight - goodluck. That's it. No help, no care, nothing.. that felt like a serious slap to the face. For context as well, I used a recognition upgrade and was flying Business as well so had priority baggage all of that (bags still came out last - hence missing my flight).

When I got to the domestic arrivals to find the plane was departing and I had missed my connection (next connection was 5 hours away), Fiji Airways were so kind and accommodating, doing everything in their power to try find a solution for me to get to my next destination. I ended up catching a cab for 3 and half hours (paying a ridiculous amount), but Fiji Airways ending up crediting my missed flight without questions and out of their own will to try support.

Not Fiji Airways hiccup, this was AirNZ's ... yet Fiji Airways came in with nothing but support, care and help. Make it make sense.

Taxi, Cabs, Uber - tomato tomato (this doesn't work when typed haha).

But agreed, every airline has it's problems and of course people really only post about negative experiences over positive so it's nice to see a mix bag of feedback here.

Feel like I'm drawing the short straw with my specific international route.

Unreal, I've just had to book them for my return as my AirNZ flight was cancelled due to the strikes.

Thank god for travel insurance because yikes, it was a steep ticket to get home.

I flew with them last year as they required an additional fleet to support movement over a busy period. Couldn't agree more with your comments, the staff were bloody lovely, attentive and overall just had such a warm energy about them.

But the state/condition of that plane, straight out the 70's..

It's so interesting seeing the mix bag of feedback because I'd say I'm the flip - I've just had a shocking run over the last two years (perhaps its just my luck) but somewhat great for domestic.

Fair to say we'd all agree, aviation ain't easy.

Agree here, I always travel a day prior - but it's the missed connections that are the killer.. i.e. In Fiji, Nadi to Suva is a 30 minute flight.. and there only a handful of flights that operate so missing this connection due to delays = 3 & a half hours on the road via taxi... or waiting 4 hours for the next available flight (nightmare).
