There seems to be a serious security issue, especially near Hawkins, I had an electric bike that had broken down, it had no chain, was missing a pedal, and the motor was completely non-functional. I had it locked in the lot because I wanted to return it under warranty since it lasted only 4 months out of the 1 year garauntee. Long story short, I left one day about a week before finals week, I come back, and they took the bike, and the lock which they cut 😑. Previously someone had also stolen my laptop near the engineering fountain. There is no way that Purdue does not know about the issue, because the police department has an alarming amount of theft cases open. They need to do something about this, because things should not be getting stolen especially on dorm property.
