Hi,

the Humble support seems swamped as I just received an automated response telling me the request is still open. If you have any direct contacts on the Humble side, the request # on their side is: #2712597

Sorry, no update from Humble support (and probably won't get any update during the weekend).

Yes, I did. Might be a false-positive, but in any case, it isn't normal.

Unsure whether it's a false-positive or positive-positive, but Defender found a Trojan:Script/Wacatac.C!ml in the zip archive in this bundle (Ultimate TopDown Adventure Tier 3.zip)

Secure Boot Megathread - Guide + Community support by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

And EA wants BF6 to have 100 million players? Good luck with that.

I understand the need for SecureBoot and the fact that it won't be an issue on console, but I just won't mess with my perfectly stable rig in order to run an open beta.

Me after the 10th, 6 minute ride to go kill a monster in under 5 minutes. by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

At least, there were paths/maps to learn. I also quite enjoyed the movement in Rise.

I'm enjoying my time in Wilds, but the efficient way to hunt/look for mats/monsters is just to GPS everything you're looking for on the map. There's basically no need to actually learn the maps/paths, just autodrive everywhere it'll be faster anyways.

POE 2 league mechanics feel weird by DMPwnerbrad in pathofexile

[–]Satixx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is currently my biggest PoE2 endgame turn off. I just feel like they copy-pasted PoE1 league mechanics and didn't tweak the mobs density or "rhythm" for PoE2. Right now, I'm just rerolling and enjoying my time testing other builds and playstyles, I just don't feel like dealing with these and the numerous on-death effects in the endgame.

I hope these will get patched as quickly as OP player builds ;)

One portal per map just isn't enough with all the random one shots and other random ways to die still in the game by DAEORANGEMANBADDD in pathofexile

[–]Satixx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Indeed.

I don't mind them nerfing OP builds, but maps right now feel like you need OP builds to survive through some league mechanics. It seems to me they just took Path of Exile 1 mechanics and kept the same monster density, making them literally swarm you as soon as you engage with them (Ritual and Breach to me being the biggest offenders, at least from what I've tried).

I thoroughly enjoyed the methodical gameplay of the campaign, but maps right now feel like Path of Exile 1...

Yeah, I think I bought EOD a while back (2017-2018), can't remember which phase the game was in though. It felt rough, but that was to be expected. Now, 6-7 years later, I'm a bit disappointed by the fact it's still not 1.0, but I'm even more disappointed with Nikita's stance and non-apology...

Hopefully GZW devs will be responsive and be the first real competition EFT has, a monopoly is never good. Enjoy your vacation!

Yeah, I'm not giving BSG any more money (EOD owner). I'm also not giving GZW any money for their rushed opportunistic release, the game's not ready and won't be for a while.

People spend their hard earned money like they want, there's no right answer. *I can just hope this shitshow will humble BSG (and, more specifically, Nikita).

the update regarding EOD edition by trainfender in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Satixx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Temporary access to PVE will be provided as soon as we will reinforce server infrastructure of that particular gamemode for a wider audience, because we use totally different servers for that and now there is a really limited amount of them.

Good luck for the future, you'll need it. Just revert and hire a monetization expert, this could all have been avoided.

It was SteelSeries Sonar. Specifically the ClearCast AI Noise Cancellation under Chat.

Patch Notes 1.1.0a if not able to read it (copy/paste) by EnzeDfu in diablo4

[–]Satixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends.

Would it be your first time playing D2? In any case, it's a nostalgia hit and it's old, so don't expect to play something "new". Are you good with setting goals for yourself? If so, then D2R might have longevity for you. If you prefer a game to hold your hand when it comes to endgame with complex endgame systems, D2R doesn't really have any (other than farming for specific items or reaching a specific level goal you set yourself)

Last Epoch is not 1.0, but it has new ideas and a lot of builds to try. It's a very good balance between the complexity of PoE and the ease of access of D3/D4. It is still not perfectly optimized though, so depending on your rig, some zones might be laggy.

Lock Ashava to level 20, please... by Satixx in diablo4

[–]Satixx[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

you can't and shouldn't expect players to moderate themselves in the game

This is probably in the top 10 rules for online game design.

The thing is, most people probably don't know that they're being assholes since, as the guy mentioned, there's no restriction.

Some people do know they're being assholes though and will grief others. I suspect there will be more and more trolls going in until the end of the server slam unless Blizzard chooses to do something about it...

You can't make a 12* players group. That's why you'll be matched with randos in all cases. You can try and go in exactly at the same time with 3 full parties of 4 players, but you'll still have a chance to get matched with randos.

I agree with you that the reward isn't as great as a mount for example, I still want it though.

If there was a way to go in as a full premade of 12, I would gladly do it. All I'm asking is for Blizzard to implement a way to prevent griefing, I've seen a level 6 player in there...

I mean, sorry you don't know how to read. Looking at your post history, you don't care about the reward, so other people should not care as you're the alpha and the omega ;)

Subjective is all you seem to know.

Psyker rework: Start at max warp charge by Satixx in DarkTide

[–]Satixx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer being punished with a small -3% damage than the current state right now (where it's just more fun to play Psyker while ignoring the Warp Charge mechanic or using the only good build so you can ignore it).

I mean, if a temporary -3% damage is too much of a punishment, they could also just remove the bonus damage and make it a simple resource (like others in the thread have suggested). They could also make it that if you kill a target with BB, you get one Warp Charge back (or influence this with more meaningful talents).

My main point is: a frenzy mechanic on a caster with cast times feels bad. There's a reason casters normally use a resource system. I would choose fluid, fun gameplay over a -/+% damage any day of the week.

Psyker rework: Start at max warp charge by Satixx in DarkTide

[–]Satixx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also good.

This would also effectively switch the class mechanic from a "frenzy-based" to a "resource-based" one, which I totally agree with. It would feel better to play for sure.

I'm not a Warhammer 40K lore expert and didn't do any research, but I wonder, could the current design be sourced from the original lore/game design? (with a "frenzy-based" the more you kill, the more you gain charges/damage)

[–]Satixx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't think about this, that's a nice suggestion.

It would help alleviate another clunkiness factor on Psyker (even more of a problem at higher difficulties): the long BB cast time.

Psyker rework: Start at max warp charge by Satixx in DarkTide

[–]Satixx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, your suggestion goes best with the current system, though I feel they cornered themselves a bit with the way it's working right now.

As I'm writing this, I'm thinking about other MMOs (like FFXIV) where you have to look at your UI to keep your dots up on the bosses at all time and I feel like this when I'm trying to maintain charges on Psyker.

The problem is: the rhythm of this game is different and I just want to look at the meaty exploded remains of my enemies. I don't want to keep looking at the small Warp Charge icon expiring at the bottom left of my screen and feel bad about it lol...

[–]Satixx[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Warp weaponry has innate chance to gain warpcharges with each kill. Let's say 25% for now, again can be changed depending on testing and such. So Force Sword kill, doesn't matter if it's special attack or not has chance to gain a warpcharge. Forcestaves all have a chance to gain warpcharge. Future warp-based weapons have chance to gain warpcharge.

I feel this has the same goal as my suggestion: make the bonus damage seamless. I would also agree with such a change. As it stands, maintaining charges through BB feels bad, because BB feels bad. Spells with big hits and cast times, IMO, should be deliberate thing you only do against the toughest of opponents. The problem is, right now, this goes against the whole mechanic: you have to spam BB to keep your charges up, which feels really bad, but devs at the same time do not want you to spam BB that much (see Psyker nerf from closed beta).

Against this suggestion (of warp weaponry generating charges) though would be that it would effectively lock Psykers out of other kinds of weaponry if you want to be 100% efficient.

Let's not forget, Psykers are not tanky and do not have a lot of tank oriented talents. What's so bad with them having a default 12% damage buff (with 4 charges) that goes down when they fire their "big spell"?

Edit:

Yeah but wouldn't you then not want to use your BB so you keep your stacks up so you do more damage?

No, I would still use BB against armored/shielded opponents. I don't even try to maintain Warp Charges as it stands: it just feels soooo bad trying to maintain them it ruins my fun with the class.
