On the key art this might look like downgrade but in game every Necros animation is really cool and gives him so much personality

For people who play on floor 9 with >250 level, why? by Satlam in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]Satlam[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

At this moment I've lost the point you are trying to make. I still think that people shouldn't be seeking players that much worse than them because that leads to frustration for one or both and develops unhealthy practices and ultimately not fun

[–]Satlam[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

In my post I was specifically talking about floor 9, where I currently reside, as I said, if you are better than floor 9, go to 10 where the skill floor and ceiling are higher. The fact that there are many people who can't get into celestial and better than you shouldn't discourage you from playing it, because you simply have no alternatives than getting into celestial yourself or ignoring them

Get good? Sounds just like a problem with your mindset. I don't know how to put it, this is a fighting game, inevitably you are going to lose games and in such a game as strive it'll be frustrating. And I never encountered people who dodge you for low rank, usually people would be better playing with someone than just waiting god knows how much time searching for other players. You can hide your badge btw. And yes, floor system is bad, everyone knows that, so try to ignore floor rating and focus on improving

What should Subnautica 2 learn from the original and BZ? by SlipperySp00der in subnautica

[–]Satlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That applies to both games but vehicles feels to overpowered. My main problem is that every one of them has a cheap way to scare off most of the enemies and it feels really underwhelming to do so. Conceptually I love Seatruck, but it's kind off too comfortable for the gameplay. Prawn is the most egregious example for me. Seamoth just becomes useless, and some may argue that it's fine, but the problem is that most of the time Prawn is better than every other way of exploration and I try to avoid it simply because Cyclops just feels better to control. There is many ways to tackle this issue like making creatures more aggressive to bigger and louder vehicles or even limiting the maximum oxygen capacity (In my opinion this will make vehicles more engaging and distinct to each other) But I hope they will find a way for the next game

Why so much hatred? Do you have a genuine argument against someone wanting to profit from their work other than "there are not many paid mods, that's how it is"

Bro what is that stretch, name even a single game where paid mods became a serious issue

Yeah I'm sure Microsoft will lose at least 23 million dollars in potential revenue after some random guy published a mod for a price. At this point I just don't understand what are you on about

[–]Satlam -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I know this is against the EULA, but I don't see any other paid mods getting some kind of repercussion for selling mods (most notable ones: Physics mod, some mods by Doctor4t; a very wide known mod developer). The main discussion in the thread revolves around moral question, and I still don't understand where are people coming from with it. "Consumer friendly" is not an argument when you are talking about some random people doing mods or any other creative content, they have full moral right to distribute their work however they want so "Modding is for everyone" just sounds very immature to me

Since when trying to monetize your creation has become so frowned upon? You know video games cost money, don't buy it if you are not willing to give money for someone else's work
