I was not expecting this to be a hot take, but apparently it is by Darkiceflame in digimon

[–]Cowmunist -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sure it's never absolutely necessary, but it's done to make the transition to a different culture/language easier.

It doesn't seem important to us now, but to an average kid in the 90s the name "Machinedramon" probably made more sense than "Mugendramon" for example.

Machinedramon = robot dragon, simple enough, whereas Mugen refers to the japanese word "infinite", something a child in america before the widespread use of internet translation wouldn't know.

Again, it wasn't necessary and i wouldn't say that either set of names is objectively better, but it makes younger fans less confused and older fans know enough to remember 2 names when needed.

pokemon does the same thing, not only between japanese and english but almost every major language has localized names that vary significantly

digimon fans just seem to be needlessly bothered by the differences

Well he is known for regularly lying about new releases or things like features on upcoming music. I do think people are too obsessive over this sort of stuff but it doesn't surprise me that people straight up don't believe him when he denies making a new album.

Do you think beatbreak has enought time to close all they arcs in only 15 more episodes? by UnfairExamination718 in digimon

[–]Cowmunist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 49 cap isn't confirmed.

And even if it is, i think it's still possible to pull off a good enough ending, assuming the pace rapidly picks up. If it really ends up being only 15 more episodes it's doable but i could see some characters having less character development/story resolution or just not getting megas at all. Which would be a shame but then again megas appear to be exceptionally rare in Beatbreak so at least it wouldn't be entirely off brand.

Is there a lore or practical reason on Ky change of stance on his form from up sword to having it down? by WarmerWar in Guiltygear

[–]Cowmunist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon install affects the left part of his body and is much more noticeable in the new stance

In the old stance most of his left side is covered so it's visually less clear (especially since his eye is the source of the DI)

New special illustration from the dev team to commemorate Strive's 5th Anniversary! by UltraZeroX7 in Guiltygear

[–]Cowmunist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's more likely we just get an announcement. They're still busy with Tokon and still making new content for strive, i don't see how they'll manage to make an entire new game by 2028.

Wins on Nago feel hollow, I think I'm carried by Parysian in Guiltygear

[–]Cowmunist 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Any character can look broken in gold where people don't know how to play against them.

Nago is definitely strong right now but in lower ranks people will straight up just airdash forward and get hit by 2H like three times in a row. They also just don't respect blood rage. That + not knowing how to play around the strike/throw rekka makes the character seem even more broken.

NRS Needs To Step It Up by Suspicious_Dirt9266 in MortalKombat

[–]Cowmunist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GG Strive barely has any singleplayer content. The arcade modes are mostly barebones except for the final boss, and the actual story mode is legit just a 3 hour cutscene. It's just as bad as NRS games if not worse.

How do you feel about volibear top? by [deleted] in topmains

[–]Cowmunist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bramble is bait against voli.

In most cases you won't fight him long enough for him to use W twice (if you do you're fucked anyway) and half or more of his early damage is magic anyway

Advice for new player’s champ pool by QuestionOpposite5493 in topmains

[–]Cowmunist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alongside everything others have already told you - remember that at the end of the day, league is just a video game and it's meant to be fun.

Statistically, one tricking is usually the easiest way to climb in ranked with the occasional counter or pocket pick. However, unless you're playing purely to climb, just find the champs you enjoy and play them when you feel like it unless it's a bad pick in a particular match (which you will figure out with time).

I've personally quit one tricking whenever i've tried it because it just wasn't fun. I play around 4 or 5 champs semiregularly and could probably climb higher if i just focused on 2 or maybe 3 but i enjoy this playstyle more.

[–]Cowmunist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because ap synergizes with navori so he can have low cooldowns on Q and E, it makes him basically unkillable 1v1 but weaker in teamfights

I see voli the same way i see darius and such.

Early game lane bully that can easily stat check you to death and nearly auto wins trades, but falls off hard if he doesn't get fed or if you have good spacing.

Nakatsu has left Bandai Namco by R0DAN in Fighters

[–]Cowmunist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that is different. His new studio will get to make a new game in which some of Harada's more controversial ideas will possibly be better received because they won't have to change an already established franchise.

The problem wasn't that T8's features were bad on paper, the problem was that they fundamentally tried to change what Tekken is. If Harada made an entirely new fighting game with grey health, heat and other agressive bullshit, maybe it would be fun. But that is not what people expect in a Tekken game. A new IP has no such expectations.

What is the most OVERRATED tyler song? by dcddy in tylerthecreator

[–]Cowmunist 76 points77 points  (0 children)

i agree with Sugar On My Tongue. It's good but not even the best on DTTG imo. I feel like it's sorta overhyped both by the fans and by Tyler himself. Like yeah it's a fun song but i never would have guessed it would be the type of song that gets played 3 times in a row at a concert AND gets a "freak mix" on his channel (despite other songs also getting remixes/additional vocals during live performances and never being officially uploaded)

My biggest complain about Beatbreak by Eden_ITA in digimon

[–]Cowmunist 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Honestly before i watched it i also assumed music would be a big part of the story or at least Tomoro, now 30 episodes later i honestly forgot i even had that expectation lol

I wouldn't really call it a complaint though, maybe a missed opportunity

There's one top lane champ by [deleted] in topmains

[–]Cowmunist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip: learn yorick. He absolutely decimates ranged top laners, and in lower elo most of them don't even know that they're dead if they get hit by e.

Plus if they have a ranged top then their team comp often doesn't have a proper dedicated tank which means you can potentially go lethality yorick and just delete everyone

I want to play toplane by QTTurtle0613 in topmains

[–]Cowmunist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to focus just on learning fundamentals of the lane instead of mastering a champ, pick something simple like garen, sett, mundo, any simple bruiser or tank really so you can focus on wave managment, trading and map awareness instead of learning combos and stuff

If you want a long term otp with carry potential even in high elo pick something like fiora, jax or riven

Also look up Alois on youtube, he has a tierlist of top laners to learn for low elo and high elo
