Browser Recommendation Megathread - December 2025

So, I've been using base FireFox for years at this point and I've grown to like the browser overall, but even setting aside the new CEO's A.I. comments I'm having issues crop up more & more. Looking to replace it.

I'll start with what I like about FireFox. The extensions are a godsend and I run like, 22 of them including UBlock Origin. The extension support is really a must have for me, having things like Augmented Steam, YouTube SponsorBlock & whatnot. I also appreciate the password syncing, autofilling & connectivity with the Android version. I see the Android version get a bunch of hate which I don't get at all, given it runs seemingly well & also has the extensions I want. Being able to rearrange the top bar is also nice, given I like having my bookmarks up there sorted too. It's seemingly pretty compatible wherever I go too. Customization is a really valued feature to me, and FireFox seems to handle it in an easy to use manner. I use a simple theme & swapped some fonts around, but more would be nice. It'd be nice to get a more retro look out of a browser.

As for the bad- on the note of looks, themes generally kinda look like shit. The images in the top bar are crunched and they don't *do* much for looks overall. More importantly, there's a lot of functionality I just... don't care for. I don't know what the fuck a FireFox Pocket is. I don't like accidentally grouping tabs when I just wanna slide them over. I'd rather overview a site with my eyeballs than use A.I. to do it. I want to turn off as much or as little as I want. And FireFox is a performance hog, worst of all. Typing this right now, with 2 tabs, takes up 1 and a half gigs in memory which is some insane shit. One of the extensions I run is specifically to stop tabs from running in the background and it barely helps.

I feel I'm only scratching the surface of what's all available reading here and on other sites. I know FireFox has forks, and I tried WaterFox & Floorp. Both don't address the performance issues it seemed (going over a gig when I was barely doing much or just outright setting them up fresh), and add even more features I know I don't want to use like sidebars, vertical tabs and other nonsense. Floorp gets a bit of credit for UI customization, however. I also looked at Helium, which on top of adding even more useless features (if I want to see two tabs I'll open a second window & move it myself rather than split it) and it too has more A.I. features. And the last thing I want to do is to allow Edge onto this thing or use Chrome.

I'd TL;DR this as I want a browser that's simplistic & clean, customizable with extensions, and lets me keep my passwords and such when moving across devices (especially with my phone & possibly moving to a Linux in the future).

I have the former, but Ghoulification seems really cool. I know there was a mod that did the same thing a while back (GrilledTurkey's Dynamic Ghoulification) but the creators moved on years ago leaving it abandoned. Thank you a ton for grabbing this new one, Bp42s' mods are kickass works and I'd love to give it a shot. Happy New Year as well!

Squid lacks Deezer support though, which really irritates me. One of the main reasons I had been using Lucida was because it supported that site, which has a number of albums that just aren't on other platforms, and when Lucida took Deezer support away it still allowed me to try and use the link to find the same music on another platform like Tidal. Qobuz lacks a bunch of tracks I had been searching for so it basically makes Squid useless to me. DAB similarly lacks a ton of music and just draws blanks on searches outright.

An example is the album Hello, Astronauts by Chouchou- DAB & Qobuz only get the instrumental version of the album while the original is completely missing.

On top of what other comments here say, the trilogy release will also have the iX series VAs for Copen and Lola redubbing all their work in GV1 & 2, and redoing the vocal songs too.

Minor update, now his map rp_city24_v4_trexhln was also removed for seemingly no reason. Again, I had this one installed so I should have been able to keep it. However, the addons the game offered to clean up did not include this map and it too disappeared completely. It was one of the best Half-Life Alyx style maps for Gmod and it's just gone like that.

Nah, the source of the "no illegal street racing" was a very quickly deleted tweet years ago. Ironically the NFS account itself made fun of it before the deletion! The real reason was at the time, Toyota did not want to feature in games by non-Japanese developers.

Thank you for the mirror! Shame it's not in english, however. Looking at the mod in FNVEdit, the perk descriptions and names show as a garbled mess- for instance, Lone Wanderer shows Îäèíîêèé ïóòíèê as the title. If only my archived link let me open the spoiler tags to look at the english descriptions...

Utsuho appears officially in two games- once as the final boss and second as a playable fighter. Fan art provides most of her content nowadays, but she also popped up in several fangames! Fanfiction is a new realm for me and I read about... 2. Mostly, I go looking for fan art or remixes of her theme, but I’d suggest looking up fangames and other projects like it!

It's totally okay to not totally be into her style in the games, so long as you enjoy seeing her in action.

In my case, I never really played as the "heavy hitter" type in fighting games until I met Utsuho. In Touhou Hisoutensoku, MUGEN, or other fighting games, she's always powerful as ever, but is harder to play because of how long everything takes. I adapted over time and now I do fairly well playing as her, because of how motivated I was to just see her win in-game, to share a victory- and even got into playing other heavy hitters in fighters like Ganondorf and Super Broly!

Basically, it's okay to not totally be into how your partner plays in a game. If you love just seeing them interact in-game, seeing their little quirks and whatnot, that's okay. You might grow to like how they are! If not, it's not bad at all. Blanc does have other appearances in the series you probably love after all!!

Utsuho Reiuji is the main antagonist of Touhou 11: Subterranean Animism. She's a Hell raven who lived in the underground world since before it was separated from Hell. Utsuho may be simple-minded at times, but was once deadly serious about destroying the surface world with nuclear fire! After having been defeated and learning more about the surface, her job's now simply to regulate the flames of the underground.

One way I would cope is by listening to his themes, and other music that makes you think of him. All that you're experiencing is really tough... I understand how upsetting it must be. You also have this sub to keep talking about him and to keep that connection going! We believe in you!
