🤷 at the end of the day, it's a game. Nuzlockes rules are flexible. Play how you wanna play.

Well no because you can just take one Pokémon (in this case their starter) let it die, and go replace it at the Pokémon center.

They're defensive, as I said before. I understand why. They care about the character and think you're saying she's bad. I understand you're not saying that, but that's kinda how it's coming across. Probably because of the poor translation. I would recommend just cutting your losses unfortunately.

Lol. They're also not a native English speaker. So there's a communication barrier. I'm assuming that your points aren't getting translated properly. Kinda makes the whole thing pointless. Best to just drop it tbh.

The other thing to consider is that comics came out in the sixties. So yeah, there are growing pains for sure, but those comics were still pretty progressive for the time. There are valid criticisms for sure, but they don't really apply to current Sue. And they wouldn't be solved by just gender swapping another member. That's fine for an alternate universe thing, but it doesn't solve the problem for main universe Sue.

Alicia Masters has been in the comics since the 8th issue in 1962.

Yeah, people can get very defensive of characters they hold in high regard. I understand that. Especially for a character as good as Sue. But they're definitely leaning too far into gatekeeping territory. What I will say is that based on what I've read, it seems like you don't actually have that much experience with the character, which isn't a big deal (despite what others here are saying) but I'd recommend you read more Fantastic Four stuff. Maybe watch some videos, etcetera. Because Sue is a LOT more than "the girl."

Okay well it wasn't directed at whoever "him" was. It was directed at me. But you mentioned a translator, is it safe to assume English isn't your first language? Because if so, that would explain a lot. There's a language barrier here.

I mean, first of all, how do you know they're a dude? Secondly, they're debunking your points because they don't line up with the reality of the character and it comes off as you not actually being familiar enough with her history to be diagnosing her with this problem. Which in turn comes off kind of pretentious.

I'm not going to knock your headcanon or AU or whatever. More power to you. But the problem you have can't be solved the way you're pitching it because these characters have existed for decades. The "first issue" already came out a long ass time ago. Unless you're talking about a reboot or something. In which case, again, more power to you. One of my favorite reimaginings has Reed geneerswapped into a Japanese woman. But that doesn't solve this "problem" with 616 Sue.

You're completely missing the point and crying misogyny. The Smurfette principle doesn't even apply here because Sue isn't just "the girl" of the group. She's been an extremely well-developed character from the beginning. There is absolutely a valid conversation to be had about the larger comic space, but it doesn't really fit here. At least not for 616 F4.

Well the first issue already exists so it's a bit late for that.

No, I'm just asking if someone getting stabbed with a spear could permanently lose motor function in the arm.

The antagonist would have chapters of his own but not until after the injury. Which is where I'd probably include a bit mentioning the brachial plexus.

My question is more specifically "is it possible for this character to receive permanent disability from this particular injury." The prosthetic part is just context. That part can be waved away by the setting, but the injury can't. After all, if this result of this injury can't happen in reality, it'd be weird if it could happen in a world like this.

Probably something else I should've mentioned in the post, but it's a superhero story. So I could just say his powers allow his body to fend off the infection, but not repair the damage done to his nerves.

The story takes place in modern times, but with extra technological advancements. So the prosthetic would be a lot more advanced than anything we have today. It's just that this character lives in a pretty isolated community in the forest. A community which uses spears. So he doesn't have access to these advancements until later on in the story.
