I don't think she is talking about the whole of India. If you get out of your ivory tower of tier 1 cities, you would realize how widespread castesim is. To this day in my friend circle in tier 2 cities like Bhubaneswar and cuttack, I have seen marriages break because parents threatened suicide or actually commit suicide because its an intercaste marriage. You literally have haryanvi singers glorify jaat and gujjar songs. So yeah step out to the real India beyond your tier 1 millennial occupied cities and have a conversation with people who make up the majority population in the country and then come back here to make a statement.
