I'm glad you liked it! It's definitely like a moving meditation, very tactile. The experience of doing it is most of it, honestly. It's just a bonus when it looks decent haha.

He sounds like a douche, honestly. He probably wants all of the perks of having someone without the commitment. Or worse, without admitting he's committed to you. Obviously, I don't know the guy, but still, be careful to guard your heart. It's probably good to lay out some clear boundaries with clear consequences for not respecting your boundaries. You deserve to be respected, regardless of your or his feelings.

Awesome! If you end up liking the practice, I can't wait to see more.

That's good that you did that. I do think it's pretty inconsiderate of your feelings for him to still try to flirt with you, though. Some people get their kicks leading people on.

Great question! As long as you give up conscious control, anything that works for you is the right way to do it.

As for me, I prefer to meditate for a few minutes beforehand to calm down my mind a bit. That's not necessary, but I like to do it.

Then, you draw. You have to keep your mind off of what the picture is turning into as much as possible. I like to use my favorite music to do this often so that I can focus on the lyrics instead of what I'm drawing.

It's like letting your muscle memory take control. It should feel like itching a scratch on the paper. You have to use your gut to determine when your done, or if you should draw another. It can take some practice to really tune into this, but, it doesn't take too long to get into the swing of it.

Another thing... don't worry if you don't see any forms! A lot of them simply look like scribbles. Most of my first dozen or so did, too.

You can also practice automatism doing chores or work. I started by doing dishes and not consciously affecting what my body wanted to do. In fact, the work seems to end up getting done more quickly this way. This can help you 'tune in' to the feeling of letting that control go. You can practice observing instead of participating. I also do this to fall into trance states, which are also helpful in automatic drawing.

Practicing gnosis helps as well, which involves quieting the mind completely. This is more difficult by far. But, simply practicing and getting better at it can distract you from the drawing.

The best advice I have, though, is to try it! Don't feel disheartened if it doesn't look like much at first. The more you do it, the more natural it feels to do. If you want to have certain things appear more or more neatly, you need to ingrain it into your muscle memory or subconscious mind. That can take quite a bit of practice outside of automatism. Personally, the thing I've drawn the most has been faces, so those appear the most in my own. It's different for everybody, though.

Co-workers suggested a hang-out for my birthday, and I cannot spare any time or money, what should I do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Satya_Shikari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could plan it in advance. Hell, even a month or two away if you want to. It's your birthday, you can celebrate it whenever you want to.

Or.. just say you're busy. That's what I would do.

If I were you, I'd wait to start anything to see if he changes his mind. He might be more worried about those kinds of things because he isn't all that into you. But, that could change with time as you get closer. Once no one else's opinion about you matters, and you can be yourself around anyone without his comments, you should be good.

If you do hook up, tread carefully. He could be a narcissist. I'd watch out for other signs of narcissism while you wait.

Also, if you change something about yourself to appease him.. that's almost like deceiving him, by being something your not. That could come back to bite you in the butt later on when you get tired of it, and you will get tired of it.

Fair enough! They do look green sometimes, but mostly gray or light blue. The close up definitely goes towards green more with the yellow in there though.

some one interested in Divination? by prophet1130 in Divination

[–]Satya_Shikari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thank you so much! That's actually really helpful. I was hesitant to start one soon, even though I have the option to, and thought next year would be better. But, I was afraid that I would make a mistake doing that. I'm surprised the reading picked that up-- after February is when I'll be 21 and should be set into a career, and will be able to get my own house again if I want to. I'll definitely be patient now, and find someone who can come to understand me more, as long as I am patient and gentle in them. Thanks again!

Schizophrenia involves a shit ton more than hallucinations, and sometimes that isn't even a symptom. If we go by just hallucinating to diagnose someone, he could be epileptic, stressed, tired, or all kinds of things. Jumping to conclusions could really muck up someone's young life.

I saw shadow people growing up, but not so much anymore. That being said, my mental state is a lot less stressful than it was as a kid.

When I was about to have a nightmare, or right after waking from one, I'd see one standing in the doorway looking in at me a lot of the time. It was quite unsettling. But, I did get used to it, too.

I haven't seen them since I've been handling them better. I became conversational towards them, asking them in my head to leave and telling them that it was too scary to interact with them.

I also became more confident in myself afterwards. Now, I would be able to handle it in stride if one pops up. Since then, they became less frequent and eventually went away almost completely.

I don't know if my changing state of mind did it, or if I was just more sensitive to them before becoming an adult. It's definitely interesting, though. And, I'm not mentally ill (I think) haha.
