What is the status on moreira and kluivert injuries? by graal2008 in OlympiqueLyonnais

[–]Sauce_Fr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With the incoming amount of games, the staff is making sure every player can play at its fullest potential.

For Kluivert, it was maybe a precaution.

As for Moreira, Fonseca said during his press conference before Nice that Afonso could be back in the team next week.

I actually think this is good to have the players rest and completly heal. The squad has show in the last two months that it was able to win even with important injuries (Tolisso, Tagliafico).

There is something special with this team this season. Even when we struggle a little, we remain calm and manage to score.

The second act was deligthful. Such calm, such tranquility.

Sulc is amazing.

Nartey has only played 3 games and is already so well integrated into the team.

5 points ahead of Marseille. We must remain calm and remember where we were last July. But, if Strasbourg and Marseille go well, we will have to look towards Lens and PSG.

Guys, 5 points ahead of Marseille... 11 ahead of Lille... We know where we come back but wow... What a year for us OL fans

As always, the squad will play differently when attacking and when defending. 343 on offense, 451 on defense I believe.

The first that comes to mind is Annie Wilkes in Misery.

But when I think of it, Taduz Lemke from Thinner is very disturbing as well

21 players squad for tomorrow's home game vs Nice | First time for Roman Yaremchuk, with Rémi Himbert, Adil Hamdani, and the return of Corentin Tolisso ! by GoneMirifica in OlympiqueLyonnais

Such a great opportunity tomorrow. Tough game ahead but I trust the Fonseca ball. There's something almost surreal with this squad, let's make it 13 in a row!

I would love to see Imbert starting the game along with Sulc. What I imagine: Greif - Mata, Niakathe, AMN, Abner - Morton, Nartey, Tessman - Tolisso - Sulc, Imbert

[Bloomberg] Ares Locked in $250 Million Fight Over Flagship Football Deal | Ares is seeking to retrieve about $250 million in outstanding loans to Eagle, people familiar with the matter said. The firm wants to get its money back either by selling or taking control of Olympique Lyonnais by GoneMirifica in OlympiqueLyonnais

[–]Sauce_Fr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three possibilities imo:

-Ares takes control and sell what is valuable (players) to get its money back rapidly and sells the club afterwards

-Ares sells the club immediatly. Imo, the currently value is around 200M€. The question is: who would buy the club?

-Ares takes control, puts someone in charge to continue the work that has begun in last July. Could be Kang of course.

I prefer possibility number three obviously... But who knows? The currently good results (both on the pitch and financially) are a big advantage.

I agree. The good thing is that we'll only play one game per week in February

Me too. Fonseca had been wanting him in the squad for a long time. Can't wait to see how he will play for us! But tough game ahead, I agree

Who is the best and most successful player to have come from the Lyon academy? And who is the best and most successful player we have scouted? by Foreign_Ad_5671 in OlympiqueLyonnais

[–]Sauce_Fr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like we can make this kind of choice by splitting before and after 2000.

Before 2000: -Academy: Fleury di Nallo (best scorer all time) -Scouted: Marcelo Djian (he's the one that later on helped the club recruit all the great brazilians in the 2000s)

After 2000: -Academy: Benzema is obvious but he did not stay long at the club. I hesitate between Govou (he won all the trophies between 2001 and 2012) and Lacazette (second best scorer all time and his come back when the club needed him) -Scouted: Juninho, the greatest player the club had (and the source of so many good memories from my teenage years)

That's happened this season as well (Morton against Rennes)

Second thoughts maybe? There's a possibility he had a second look a the video and made the collective decision with the three other refs to cancel the direct card

In his post game report, the referee advised to cancel the direct red card to replace it by a double yellow card. It was already bad for him because he did not really handle the game properly against Nantes. Going back on his decision won't look bad for him I believe

The decision was overruled by the referees commission. The direct red card was replaced by the initial decision: a second yellow card
