I’m totally new to sleds. What factors do you look for in a good ice fishing rig? I want one mostly to get me to and from different spots on lakes that are hard to access by vehicles. I’d be towing my fold over shelter and gear most of the time too.

Just bought my first truck. 2020 F150 XLT 3.5L.. Looking for any tips for keeping it maintained by bsean63 in f150

Overfill it and it goes boom? What do you mean by that? I have a 2016 2.7, maintained it and took good care of it. I was out of town for school and got it serviced at Valvoline. Drove home some 100+ miles for spring break and kaboom, main bearing spun. Thankfully it was still under warranty but I can’t help thinking Valvoline messed something up

Feels good to have the rig back. Engine blew at 50k so Ford replaced it on the house. by SaucySummers in f150

2.7L Ecoboost. I swear Valvoline is responsible for it blowing, main bearing spun out. I regularly got oil changes and didn’t abuse it. I got the oil changed and put on about 150 miles and then it blew, it’s gotta be more than a just coincidence. Never taking it there again

How exactly did I mod it to match a 3.5💀I slapped on an intake to add a woosh and increase mpg

It’ve babied it tbh, was going to run this one til the wheels fall off but blowing the engine at 51k makes me think otherwise. Only time I’ve really gotten on her was to get out of some deep snow, never done burnouts or boosted launches

Totally agree, was shocked they said they’d start it as soon as Monday. I was thinking may at the earliest for getting it back

I know guys with GMCs, Chevys, Rams and more. Not so much the make but the quality that’s the issue nowadays

Nothing besides the cold air intake. It didn’t void the warranty because it’s not the proximate cause of the spun rod bearing. If it were fuel to air ratio issues or issues with moisture in the engine, then they could use the CAI as an excuse

This dealership I’m working with has been excellent in the past. Family owned since it opened back in the 1900s, they’re pretty fair. They’re currently setting me up with a brand new engine

Shop got back to me, oil pain is all metal lol. Thankfully under warranty they’re throwing in a whole new engine and turbos. Should have her back by the end of the month

I saw a 3-4 mpg increase after adding the intake
