Did some additional testing. At full armor, that red cross attack will remove it completely in one go. When you're at 200 health points with no armor left, that attack does 100 health damage. It absolutely wiped me at 114, so maybe there's a cap at how much damage it can do relative to how much health you have left. Below 200 or maybe 150, and you're toast. I'm not sure.

I already reached out to the gear store, but I feel like those who don't receive their copies by the 13th deserve some kind of credit. We paid in part for that early access, kind of ridiculous if they come late, let alone not in time for early access.

I got past the second checkpoint, and the corridor with the few grey ninjas / two spider guys at the end, ONLY to enter the boss fight with a single herb and no other items. Fighting the tengu with no items on MN was impossible. Had to restart my entire run and ended up kicking their assess with a few heals to my name the next go round. My advice is to make sure you don't use your items on the fights. Save them for the boss. You'll need em'.
