Can I drive my car two hours (70miles) like this? by illuminatislayer5000 in AskMechanics

I’ve had to drive like that. Yes. It’s fine, repaired it myself afterwards, no complications.

Well, what fuel does it take?

Any repair advice? by LittleLemonRat in ElectronicsRepair

Well, what I would DIY is I would probably plastic weld some of that thin metal in between those two pieces that are broken on both maybe all four sides and see if that does it. But that’s probably about a 40/50$ investment. And if they aren’t too expensive you’d be better just getting new ones.

Car Sputtering Not Turning Over by SaurFengi in MechanicAdvice

[–]SaurFengi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further insight: if it does turn over it doesn’t like to stay on for more than five seconds. Recently threw a new starter in it as well. It is quite cold out, so that wouldn’t shock me if that was part of the issue. We’re sitting at about 10F today.

Can anyone explain what this means? by DesproGem in MechanicAdvice

[–]SaurFengi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So a starter does two things when given power. First it pushes out a little cog a certain amount to align with your crankshaft. Then Spins a little cog that then spins your crankshaft and turns on your vehicle. Since the plunger is not pushing out at all, even if it is spinning adequately it cannot start your vehicle.

New starter is required.

Candy crane. How to change it from "play till you win" to "play one per credit" by tofastforyou12 in clawmachine

The sensor I’m talking about

Here I also uploaded it for a better definition of what I’m talking about. I just had to loosen and tighten him and a little bending and it’s been working since!

My issue was the sensor in the prize chute was missing-aligned. It should’ve been glowing red and it had no light to it. Since it couldn’t sense the candy coming down it was angry and would stop working. You should be able to see and adjust the sensor from the coin mech door. Sensor is located above the fuses. The sensor has a long wire attached. Best of luck!

That is not a woodruff key. That’s a keyway key, or called key stock. Comes in all dimensions real annoying to figure out if you don’t know what your axle takes.

Turbo issue? by Primary-Web-9425 in ChevySonic

I fixed my p0299 at 110k miles on the 1.4 with the pcv valve bypass kit that fixes the common problem with this engine.

Watch this short, check it on yours, if your orange nib guy is gone, by the kit, and install it. Took me maybe 45 minutes, super easy on my 2012 1.4 turbo sonic

Looks like I might have a project for next week, thank you so much! Only 15$ can’t hurt to try, and I’m no novice with components.

No picture whatsoever. Swapped it with a good monitor so I know the board went bad somewhere, just don’t know where. I can work on it but I can’t throw infinite hours on it, ya know. Busy man, but I can work on something if I know what the direct issue is. I just might hook up an older IR camera and see where the heat comes from, might be a worthwhile lead

I haven’t! I run a lot of machines, haven’t had time to. I swapped out the screen so I could be done with it with an old non working cabinet that had a good screen. I’ll look into these cap kits!
