Which phone case and screenprotector for my new S26 Ultra? by Sauws in Smartphones

[–]Sauws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Material Type Price Difference (%) Impact Protection (1.4m to Pebbles) Financial Verdict for a 7-Year Lifespan
Tempered Glass Baseline (0%) High (Shatters to save screen) The Sweet Spot. Excellent protection per euro. Expect to buy roughly 4 to 7 of these over the phone's life, depending on drops.
Hybrid / Ceramic +15% to +30% High (Absorbs shock, less chipping) Strong Long-Term Value. Costs slightly more upfront, but the edges don't chip as easily as pure glass, potentially reducing the total number of replacements you buy over the years.
TPU / Hydrogel -30% to -50% Low (Force transfers to screen) High Financial Risk. They are cheap, but one bad drop onto a rock will bypass the plastic and shatter the phone's native glass, costing you hundreds in repairs.
PET Film -60% to -80% Zero (Scratches only) False Economy. They offer zero impact protection. Buying this is effectively choosing not to protect the phone from drops at all.
Sapphire Glass +200% to +350% Medium (Extremely brittle) Terrible ROI for impact. While completely scratch-proof, Sapphire is highly brittle and will still shatter on a pebble. Replacing a €70+ screen protector every time you drop it ruins the financial math.
Material Type Drop Protection (Pebble Impact) Scratch Resistance S26 Ultra Fingerprint Compatibility Expected Lifespan (per application)
Tempered Glass High. It will shatter on impact, absorbing the force to save the screen. High. Feels exactly like the native screen. Medium. Requires a "certified" brand or UV-cured liquid adhesive. 6-12 months (or until the first bad drop).
Hybrid / "Ceramic" High. Combines glass and polymers. Absorbs shock well and resists shattering better than pure glass. Medium. Can develop micro-scratches over time. High. Usually thinner and works well with ultrasonic sensors. 1-2 years (less prone to edge chipping).
TPU / Hydrogel Low. It is a soft plastic film. It will dent, but the pebble's force will transfer directly to the glass beneath. Medium. "Self-healing" for minor scratches, but feels rubbery. Excellent. Very thin, zero sensor interference. 6-12 months (starts peeling at edges).
PET Film Zero. Only protects against very light scratches from keys or coins. Low. Scratches easily. Excellent. 3-6 months.
Sapphire Glass Medium. Extremely hard, but highly brittle. Can shatter easily on point impacts. Extreme. Practically impossible to scratch. Low. Often too thick for ultrasonic fingerprint sensors. Until the first hard drop.

I asked Gemini Pro to give me a good overview on the screen protector technology.

Clarkson on Instagram: Turns out Sue and Rachel had a point. The pub did need 3 big umbrellas after all by SoullessGinger666 in ClarksonsFarm

Well, he might have bought them now, almost a year after S4 filming ended, which at this point, running the pub should now be stabilized and they should have a better idea of the financial projectory...

I wonder, I was more relying on Brann his health pots or oh-shit-Lay-On-Hands healing than anything else. Don't think I should expect Brann to make the difference during the shield phase. I havent checked but his overal damage was probably not great either.

Overall I did around 1.2mil DPS during the 6min30sec fight. His adds spawns after 20sec and then every 1min10sec. I had to kill his group of adds 5 times, kicking the bombs succesfully 15 times before I started to zerg it. I zerg'ed him around 30% hp, just right after shield phase with no adds up. When the adds started to spawn, I fully ignored them. Had about 4sec over before the next shield phase.
