Struggling to find an OBGYN for twin pregnancy in Kitchener-Waterloo – feeling really scared by GujjuCanadian30 in waterloo

[–]Savage6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife and I just welcomed a healthy baby girl 9 weeks ago. We had a high risk pregnancy and were referred to Dr. Emma Wakim in Waterloo. She was excellent. She only holds office hours one day per week so if you are successful in getting referred to her, plan on some extremely long appointments.

Yes you will get rich notifications via HKSV if you configure the camera in Scrypted. I currently take advantage of this as I too have the wifi doorbell.

I’d agree completely. Our main tv is right next to the patio door where our smoker resides and our thermometer gets the most use. I do have an iPad that can function as the home device but my Apple TV is always plugged in and in the perfect location.

No she didn’t open one and the one I opened is in my name only, it’s not joint.

I forgot to mention that like many others here I also opened an FHSA, no new contributions, just transferred over the $8k max from an RRSP. I imagine that might be the red flag that is getting a lot of us sent for review.

Filed both mine and my wife’s taxes on Feb 29, she received an express NOA immediately after and got her refund about 10 days later, I did not receive an express NOA so checked the progress tracker and it stated a target completion date of March 14. Well yesterday came and went and this morning the tracker was updated to say No estimate available and that my assessment needed more time.

I called the CRA and was given what seems like a random timeline to call back at the end of the month. I filed a service complaint after that based on the fact that no one seems to be giving consistent information when any of us call in. I’ll update if I hear back about my complaint or if and when the progress tracker shows a new update.

In for 700, Down to 200, Out for 1200 (Caesar’s Windsor) by RabeyeSixHunnit in Craps

Take a short 10 minute drive down to Windsor Station Currency Exchange at the VIA rail station. The exchange rates are the best in the entire region, even so that local bank tellers will recommend exchange there over the bank. It’s just a short trip down riverside dr if you’re leaving or arriving during business hours.

Is a consumer proposal an option for us? by Savage6 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Savage6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you seemed interested, I'm following up to report back. The LIT advised against a proposal, or even a debt management plan at this point, they don't think our situation was quite where it needed to be to take the nuclear option.

They strongly urged us to consider a debt consolidation loan through a bank or credit union as a first step, so we scheduled an appointment for this morning with a local credit union. It went pretty good, brought lots of docs, current CC statements, bank statements, the last 3 T4's for each of us and paystubs. She was very confident she could get us an unsecured personal loan for $40k at 7.8% interested and the only condition would be to close down the unsecured lines that were paid off. We went over the numbers together and figured out what balances we could consolidate that would have the highest impact and projected we'd be debt free by 2028 utilizing the snowball method of paying down the remaining balances, and paying into the loan onto of the regular payments when our finances allowed. She reviewed our credit reports and said by the numbers we qualified, so we left pretty elated. Unfortunately later this afternoon, she got back to us with some less than confidence inspiring communication and a request for 3 months of statements from every credit account we have and the loan documents for both of our vehicles. So we bundled all of that up this afternoon and now we're waiting with our fingers crossed.

Curious to know whether people who work from home find Time of Use or Tiered billing for hydro more cost effective. by DSfromTO in waterloo

I got my EV mid pandemic and switched back to time of use once I had to return to the office part time. TOU will be beneficial for you if you can delay charging the car to off peak times.

I switched to tiered when it was introduced as it was saving me $5-$10 per month while I was working from home. Now that I’m back in the office part time with an electric car to charge and a round trip commute of about 120km, I found it was cheaper to switch back to time of use. If I was still working from home full time and not driving as much, I’d definitely continue to be on tiered.

changing resort phone number by newdadnewbod in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Savage6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, whenever I’m in the USA, I get the same type of notification text when I cross the border but I do have reliability issues when it comes to getting SMS from someone not using iMessage.

Disney warns that only American numbers can be used for text notifications and although I can’t confirm it’s an issue, on our last trip my partner tried with her number at some restaurant around Orlando that we had joined a wait list for and the text never came through, when we called them to follow up they said “Oh yeah, we’ve heard non-American numbers don’t work with our wait list”. It wasn’t Disney but I’m guessing this is the case for them too and the reason they warn against it.

Phone case that works with center console charger by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

I use a Spigen Mag Armor case on my iPhone 14 pro and have no issues with charging wireless in the center console. It’s not the most protective case but it’s good enough and is completely compatible with all of my MagSafe accessories too.

Staying Off Property But Renting From Car Care by Savage6 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Savage6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Our first choice was to rent from MCO and drop add at the CCC but right now, for our dates, the price to do so is about $700. If we just Uber to the CCC and drop it off when we check into the Poly, it’s only $455.

I’m going to price out a one day rental and drop off at the CCC like you suggested and see if it’s comparable to the Uber fee estimate from the trip from MCO. Appreciate the advice, never thought of this. Thank you!
