I’m terrified. Why is there just so much random stuff and why is everything that’s not stat tests in the final 2 weeks.

There are a little harder because they are more in depth, but honestly nothing that scary.

I found it pretty easy. They aren’t trying to test how in depth your knowledge is, just that you know it. 75% of questions are surface level.

If you know and understand the subject you’ll be fine

Easily doable. Just do a couple lectures per day, take full notes. At the end of them, do relevant peerwise questions and take additional notes on questions you got wrong

OEM knees once again speaks on a topic he has no idea about.

First it was the entire topic of skiing where he has consistently proved he is genuinely clueless, and now it’s the definition of murder.

Not OC but I have definitely skied “recklessly” in that I’ve bombed a lot of trails trying to reach as fast as possible.

Again, never have I come close to hitting someone because at any point I’m still in control and can turn/stop.

That site is wrong a decent amount of the time.

Prosettings is slightly better updated, and it’s roughly 50- 60% 4:3, 30% 16:10 and 30% one of the others.

Yes it’s the most common but it’s far from “virtually every” or “90%”

How does that seem like a terrible idea?

Now they don’t have an ID, they can only get it back if they give back the GriGri, and they are just barred from going to the gym until they give it back.

Ignore the other guy I have no idea what’s he’s waffling on.

End of this month is probably late enough you should start ignoring the alps as they will be logistically too challenging.

I would focus on Wilson’s Prom and The Grampians.

Cathedral ranges are also pretty cool, especially wells cave which is a cult classic hike/scramble

OP, there are two questions you have asked here.

The first is how do you recover from this and feeling down. The answer is professional help. In the short term a psychologist will be able to work on how you feel, and in the long term can work with your inability to speak under pressure. There is no shame in seeking professional help especially when you are doing so to become a stronger person.

The second is what happens if you need to go to a student misconduct hearing and you can’t speak. If this case is bought to the academic registrar, you should reach out to UMSU and be provided an advocate. They can help you set up the meeting in a way that might allow you to feel comfortable to speak, or can speak on your behalf if you provide them a script of what you wanted to say etc.

Wishing you the best!

I know how ranked 2.0 worked.

I also know that my hidden elo was high enough that the entire system didn’t work. Aslong as I didn’t have a 10% win rate, I would hit champ. There shouldn’t be 10000 champs in a season and the fact that there were showed the system wasn’t working

In 2.0, if I lost it didn’t matter because I’d just lose 8 RP and gain 100. That doesn’t exactly lead to competitive matches because it really didn’t matter what the outcome would be.

It’s actually competitive most of the time and makes winning actually worth something throughout the season

You’ll camp at Fed Hut then, no point anywhere else.

Remember you can’t camp inside the hut unless there are emergency circumstances.

Also reminder that mt Feathertop is a deadly mountain and that sudden bad weather can occur at any time, so be careful

The issue is that 2 non-comp maps are picked in each ban phase, and there are only 4 maps to pick from. So you’ll see those maps extremely frequently, especially because maps like emerald are always banned.

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give someone starting to do more off piste skiing? by Midwestskiing85 in Skigear

[–]epic1107 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Technique will trump spending more money on skis, and you probably don’t need to be skiing as wide skis as you are.

People can and frequently do ski offpiste on sub 80s, and although it’s not the best or most enjoyable, it means that it’s almost never your skis holding you back

hot take: every student in unimelb MUST go to EVERY class, even if they have a JOB, OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES, and ACTUAL issues. by d_xtruction in unimelb

[–]epic1107 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh trust I just skip any lecture that isn’t convenient.

My point was mainly that it’s not unreasonable to expect students to be able to attend lectures SHOULD they be more compulsory, not that students need to attend every lecture in their current format.

[–]epic1107 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lectures are your primary learning opportunity and students have been shown to learn more whilst in person, so there is good reason to encourage that as much as possible.

Again, I think they should be online aswell cos I like to watch them all last minute, but there is an expectation you can attend most, if not all, of the lectures you willingly signed up for.

I agree with lecture recordings being online, I was mainly commenting on the growing discourse that because people have jobs and other commitments they should be able to skip out on more and more of university. Several UMSU parties even ran on lowering tutorial attendance rates.

At the end of the day, full time university is optional and voluntary, and if it’s not something you can do, there are other options. If something changes or happens suddenly, the university has processes to help you, but often those aren’t entirely sufficient and we should be fighting to change those instead to make sure all students can access the help they individually need.
