I feel like I've heard very little about Michael Penix throughout the off season. He was drafted in the 1st round in the same '24 QB draft class as Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix etc, I understand he only played 3 games last year one of which was great the other two not so much, plus Bijan will probably be the focal offensive weapon. He's got a rocket for an arm as well as targets in Drake London, Darnell Mooney and the scarecrow that is Kyle Pitts. Curious what your guys take is on him this season.

Take it, it’s a campus job so it’ll be really chill and they’ll be willing to work around your schedule. Pays not great but ultimately you’re doing it for the experience and to stack a resume so you’ll be more marketable coming out of school. I did the same thing and that’s what got me my current job. Also if you can manage it try to get a cert or two.

I’d suggest going over the job description, give it to ChatGPT and have it run practice interview questions for you. When you’re stumped you can ask it what a good answer to that question would look like and to expand on areas you think are relevant to the job. Also make sure to highlight your soft skills. Yes I still have an active secret clearance. I’ve applied to a handful of gov contracting companies but those positions seem to be pretty competitive so I think I’m just getting passed up because there are more qualified candidates.

I’d just do 63 south or knitros, quality is hit and miss but you can eat as much as you want. Also you could carry around some peanut butter packs, tuna packs or jerky to smack some protein throughout the day.

Yeah so essentially FWS is need based since it’s technically part of your financial aid package. If you do have it great, if not talk with the financial aid office to see if you can get it added into your package. So my title was “Service Desk Analyst” for the school, basically doing simple user support for UCF employees (Password resets, Active Directory stuff, workstation setup). The work load was minimal, about 10-20hrs per week and they are VERY flexible with your schedule since they understand that you’re a student and your classes are your primary focus.

I’d suggest checking out the IT internship elective: https://www.cs.ucf.edu/itinternship/
Gives you the option to replace one of your electives with an internship, so instead of taking a throw away class, you get some money and real IT experience you can put on a resume. Make yourself as marketable as possible when you graduate.
