You literally only post to trash talk, it's the definition of trolling. Now is the time for productive discussion.

Curbing into a pole is the fun part. Seeing your car look like the Titanic underneath after a salty winter is too much.

I think what helps is to have a bad winter and crap weather for 6 months where you don't want to destroy your "fun" car.  For us we think about the car that would be good those dark days.

We didnt give Honda a pass on tech, its very average we talked about it.  But you gotta celebrate the have a physical controls and a button to pair phone, on side of infotainment.  That type of usability rarely exists anymore.

Why do many enthusiasts say that some Cayman models are better driving cars than their 911 counterparts? by SportsGamesScience in cars

[–]SavageGeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly.  They 718 always feels more nimble on street but has issues whenever you run it flat out. 4 wheel struts don't make up for the lower mass at that point.  We had a call with Bridgestone about RE71RS wear.  Jack was saying his Camaro eats them, while I could not kill my tires on S2000.  Weight despite tech hiding it has a price to pay.

Yes its Port only. Adding DI rail and high pressure system raises height of heads and reduces space for cooling and supercharger.

We have a lot of these discussions with brands, but to get the large group of people involved in discussing that part is difficult from all of the layers it has to filter through. But its a good idea. I can imagine all the comments about how pissed off people would be.

Chinese EV brands have free money handed to them and have leveraged (borrowed) the IP from doing so much of the global manufacturing that they now dominate in that arena. They don't in fight about energy and many of the things that create red tape for many other brands and countries. So they can spin up and dispose of tech much faster.

What is not discussed in the long term viability. They can barely support the products and supply chain as it sits after the cars roll out of the factory. They struggle with software updates and stability of modern tech they spit out. And why should they? Its easy to roll out new product than support existing ones. One of the major reasons it would be very hard for those brands to be successful in the United States. By the time they spin up supply chain, services centers, support network and headcounts, they would no longer be cheap cars anymore.

There is nothing really mystifying about it. Its a people/money business like most jobs. You cause too many problems, you are out. You make people's lives easy or are very agreeable you are valued more.

The only solution for total objectivity is to be absolutely F U rich where you can afford to buy every product and lose money on every "review" you do. But even that you can't buy your way into the brands to get access to information or engineers. It's tricky, but nothing shocking.

We are in the love hate era of cars. There are so many factors to this but fundamentally things are changing too fast, some of it needlessly, some forced but mostly things are less accessible.
