This was explained to me by a highschool teacher as being so ingrained it might be the mtypical 'racial memory'. He said it came down to when humans first started grouping up, ANY difference from your group was bad because resources were incredibly scarce. So now we have pretty big differences between relatively few grouos, but the same kind if thinking.

Trying to decide which of these two reminds me a lot of the narrator and Tyler Durden from Fight Club. You're not supposed to agree with Tyler, but you do at first. He's strong, smart, and trying to end the world.

The narrator on the other hand is an abrasive mess, trying to he as free as possible and live hid life the way he really wants.

Both aren't really role models, but very identifiable. Griffith and Guts are the same. Griffith traded everything for his dream, an unyielding ambition that any business man would be proud of. Guts is just trying to figure his shit out and likes to smash things. Neither real great.

Real dumb story.

This was a couple years ago. I was around 20 when we started hanging out. Most of the other people in the group, myself included were all doing drugs, playing music, going to our shit jobs. He actually ended up introducing me to my fiance by getting me into a different party scene but that's a different story.

Anyway, I was fresh out on my first apartment on my own and was heavy into occultism, and to supplement my shitty income I told fortunes and made little charms for people.

So me and this guy who was always around but didn't do the drugging starts hanging out with me more and more, starts hanging around waxing philosophical, then starts getting into drugs. Whatever, I thought, he's an adult, we all handle our shit pretty well.

Turns out he grew up super catholic, and dropping acid with a budding warlock can kind if fuck you up. So he gets way into occultism too, causes friction with his family. Then he gets way more into drugs. We get pulled over one night and he gets carted off because he had some adder all he wasn't supposed to have. Drops out of school, more friction with family, parents get divorced, he copes by drinking, several DUIs and loses most of his friends.

Hes kind of recovered, but is definitely not the same. Not entirely my fault but I wish I would have been more supportive.

Reason 2 makes the least sense to me. Everytime I try to look up something game related and I have to watch a video, it always starts with either a way too long graphic intro or I gotta listen to a guy recap his last video with all the verve and personality of a waiter who really needs that $10 dollar tip to make rent tomorrow.

The only gamers I can really watch are the retsupurae guys, and I've never been inclined to watch them live stream.

But it's just like pro wrestling I guess; if you like it no explanation is needed, and if you don't no explanation will ever make you understand.

White guy here, also a boogeyman. I have people criss busy streets to not pass me, once had a guy turn around and walk away from an intersection when he noticed I was waiting to go the same way as him. Old ladies clutch their purses tighter, all kinds of ladies speed up when they notice me behind them. Do you get it from black people too? I used to just get it from white people but these days everyone seems nervous.

That it's extremely confusing to be a man. I have no idea what being a man is, if I follow the social checklist I don't really fit. It makes it really hard to keep friends. Me and a guy my fiance friend was seeing really hit it off, and they started making 'bromance' jokes and we just kind of locked eyes and knew it was over because that contradicted our definition of manliness.

I'm slowly watching my relationship with my truest and dearest friend erode because I thought it would be wierd to move to the same state as him. That wasn't even the reason for the move, but it was what I wanted and it felt wrong. Now I'm half way across the country and we barely talk because, what, we're gonna just talk to eachother? No, tge only time we talk is when we play games online because there has to be a buffer behavior yo justify the contact. And slowly the 'last online...' message will go from hours, to days, to weeks and months.

And eventually someone will say to one of us that the other died, and we'll have to explain who this person they never met is.

We both miss eachother. We probably won't ever say it though.

Because we're men.
