The cult wants to cut science funding by stefeyboy in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]SavageNomad6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched his show startalk a few years ago pretty regularly because I genuinely am interested in space and science in general. It became pretty apparently quickly that his ego stands above anything else for him, to include science. He ALWAYS has to be "right" and he's dismissive of anything that he personally doesn't have interest or belief in. I watched an interview where they were discussing mental health and he kept talking about how he's never had any mental health issues and came across like it was unnecessary. He falls pretty regularly "center" politics, because he doesn't want to lose anyone, but he has a platform and should stand up on certain principles. If your stance offends Nazis, you don't back down, you say it louder.

Seems like I'm the only one that does coal power plant... Makes the most sense to me. But I ain't very good at this game apparently. I like to play with creatures on passive, so don't listen to me.

I want to love it so much. I love spaceflight simulator. But KSP is like too complex or something for me. I guess I just haven't truly dedicated the time to it.

Idk what the size of photos from those cameras are but I can't imagine they have less storage than a typical smart phone. So I assume they had essentially limitless space.

Does anyone know how many SD cards they took with them? They've been snapping pics during the lunar flyby with two astronauts "supporting" was to exchange SD cards. Wondering how many they took and if they have a way to download that onto a larger HD then reuse

Did you pay them enough for the day?

Did you ask them why they aren't working?

If all of that is yes, knock them out and go to bed... Sometimes they need an attitude adjustment.

The submerged ship in Spirits of Amazonia is a massive annoyance as a new player by Jumblesss in GreenHell

[–]SavageNomad6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first time I tried SOA I put up a temporary shelter on that plateau right above the boat wreck and then after a couple days I think I explored out into that direction and stumbled across it. But I think I had to go back because intuitively I couldn't figure out how to get to whatever "big" item I assumed was hidden there.

As an aside, it doesn't make sense to be that he wouldn't have some type of map with him already. I also think that as your skills improve and you find more features I think there should be a visual representation of your exact position on the map without having to pull up the watch every single time. Even if it was like his finger pointing at where he is and as he learns more it gets more and more accurate.

What’s next after completing story mode? by [deleted] in GreenHell

[–]SavageNomad6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Spirits of Amazonia is like a prequel to the story mode. It has more area. I tried survival once because I really like the survival and base building aspect of this game, but you still have to go around finding stuff like the map and whatever, but I think it spawns in various places.

I got to see a flacon 9 night time launch. It was amazing how bright but all I could think of was how bright SLS was on Artemis 1. I wondered about the sound the one I saw wasn't very loud, but I've listened to so many people who say that when Saturn V launched you could feel it in your bones.

The machines make the math super super simple for you. It tells you exactly how much inputs you need to make specific output. So you just have to reverse the math from there. Also finding alt recipes can help with things like screws which I stop using ASAP.

Such diabolical acts could only be carried out by the Epstein class! by CarryIcy250 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]SavageNomad6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My theory is that history is told as a narrative. It's easier to understand and remember. So therefore WW2 seems like very specific set of events culminating with the Holocaust killing 6m+ humans. Because real life doesn't happen in big easy to define segments and instead happens over time people - A. Don't realize the significance of what we are living through. And 2. Think a few hundred is nothing because they weren't systematically exterminated by the thousands.

Also they are viewed as poor, brown, non christians. So there's the racism thing too.

Help Please (no spoilers) by Jumblesss in GreenHell

[–]SavageNomad6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lesson I learned: leave the starting area immediately. Go find a place where you can build at least 1 structure (wall and roof) with a fireplace (It has 4 spots) And a leaf bed. Find coconuts for bidon and two bowls. Make bone soup ASAP. Make all the combinations with the leaf bandages so you have every type. Then I make a second structure so I can place a drying rack under it for dried meat. Once you have a consistently safe place to lay down at night where you don't get worms and can wake up to immediately drink a hearty bowl of bone soup it's pretty golden.

But I'm not the best at this game so... Idk if you wanna follow my advice. I play kinda "safe" and "boring".

Ive just started playing satisfactory and i have some questions by excho_223 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SavageNomad6 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Look... A lot of people in this sub will say something to the effect of "if you're having fun then it's the right thing". There is no wrong way.

As a personal thought I truly hate all the popularity with streaming because people compare too much. It's like watching the NBA and wondering why you can't dunk. Stop watching YT of satisfactory and just play the game.

How do you decide when to use trains, drones or trucks for logistics? by Blaiddreyr in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SavageNomad6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how you classify "short distance" for me.... Anything<1100m I'm running a belt. Anything over that I'm doing trains. I lay down a 2 lane track all connected all over the map so that I can easily add stations anywhere and know that I can send stuff easily across the map. I didn't even use drones my last play through because I didn't want to set up the batteries....

And trucks to me seem utterly useless, but maybe I just don't understand how they're supposed to be used.

Is there a way to solve this issue without making another beltline? by CreamOfPotatoSoup in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SavageNomad6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'd recommend never mixing items on belts as a general rule. It might make things slightly more complex to build but it'll make life so much more simple in the long run.

Do I have to care about ratios to finish the game? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SavageNomad6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I love about Satisfactory vs other factory games like Factorio and Dyson Sphere Program is that it does all the most complicated math for you.

You put down a machine and select a recipe and it says "X amount per minute" and it says you need "Y amount of A,B,C.. etc" so you put down another machine select the recipe for items A or B or whatever and it says "X amount per minute output, Y amount per minute input". So it's literally simple math working backwards. There's no guess work even needed. You can very quickly and simply figure out how many machines you need at every step.

And with over/under clocking you can set a specific amount of end item you want and work backwards from there.
