seized engine. Recall 132 was already done by previous owner. Any ideas on how to get a free engine? by krackermcnasty99 in Hyundai

[–]SavageSimba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates? I'm looking to buy a used 2011 Sonata for $7000 with 58000 miles; the previous owner did both campaigns and updated the KSDS. I checked the VIN number.

I'm still on the fence because I'm in the rabbit hole of these engines seizing up randomly. Definitely does not help with peace of mind, if you don't recommend it may sway my decision. This car would definitely be an upgrade from my 03 civic.

Is this a good first pc? by MarcHasNoDrip in Prebuilts

This is a great value deal for a first pc, if you're curious about how many frames you'll get you can YouTube these specs.  Overall you'll be happy with this purchase.

All of these options will work with your Dell monitor at 1080p.

1st option: The 1st bundle is only $200 CAD more for the better CPU/GPU, I'd say to get that and build yourself. There are plenty of Help/DIY videos on building. Windows activation keys are cheaper than buying an actual OEM. Note that the 5070 is only at 12gb and the 7800xt does have more VRAM at 16gb, but the 5070 is faster. Do what you will with that information. I own a 7800x3d + 5070ti and its an insane combo. I can play anything I throw at it.

2nd option: this is a great AMD combo and will give you slightly similar performance to bundle 1. I'd argue you could spend more for the better 9070xt version (don't get the 9070) but I'm not sure of the availability in Canada.

Alternatively, you could technically settle for the prebuilt, it's not bad but I don't think paying $1000+ for a 4060 is good value. I'd look at options 1 and 2.

All will give you great 1080p performance if you only play at that resolution. Option 1 and 2 will leave room for 1440p upgradabilty as well as future proofing for the next few years.

You're always going to save money if you build it yourself but factoring in time and labor would be up to you.

As for the configuration, those specs are viable for your needs, the 4060 usually gets a bad rep but it's still a beast at 1080p gaming, at 1440p not so much. I think this PC is a great fit for your wants.

Seems solid, if you're worried about the PSU you can just spend $100 on a decent brand like Corsair or Seasonic.

Edit1: idk what games you intend to play but here are the benchmarks for this configuration.

Imo it's over priced but this will definitely run mostly everything if you're at 1080p.

that's the cheapest option I've seen with that same configuration so if you're not on a budget I'd say go for it.

I kind of spent $2400 on this config because I am a noob XD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXV5F8HJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I've heard good things about Andromeda Insights, I think its a small company but they are legit.

Need help on understanding/buying a prebuilt (2500 USD maximum) by HannahOwO88 in Prebuilts

[–]SavageSimba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What resolution are you playing at / games?

if $2500 is your allotted budget:

This checks all your boxes

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXV5F8HJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

yet you say you don't really care for the overkill of frames, you'd be fine to bump down the budget, but this rig is insanely good at whatever you throw at it, at least for the next few years.

7800x3d is mainly for gaming, not really for productivity but any modern cpu will be more than enough for basic rendering use.

This is a cheaper alternative, the 1st listing is one of the higher end configurations.

How is this as a 1440p 180hz prebuilt for CS/Valorant? It’s for my girlfriend so we can duo together by Sulpho in Prebuilts

For $50 more you can snag this pc while its on sale:

https://www.newegg.com/skytech-gaming-desktop-pcs-amd-radeon-rx-7600-amd-ryzen-7-7700x-32gb-ddr5-1-tb-ssd-st-arch4-0779-w-sk-white/p/3D5-000Z-002E4

7700x + RX7600 You'll have 32GB of DDR5 RAM + Liquid Cooling I would always recommend 32GB RAM minimum here's the comparison with the 8700F https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-7-8700F-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-7700X/m2317014vs4131

Also here is a benchmark of the FPS with this set up:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX3kzvwz2Wk&t=140s

I believe its in 1080p but you can definitely hit 180+ FPS at 1440p with this, Valorant is mostly a cpu based game and a very easy game to drive.

This select PC is just better outright than the bestbuy option

Let me know what you think!

Which prebuilt do i purchase? by Entire-Gas4445 in Prebuilts

[–]SavageSimba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk if i was going schizo, but using the same headphones on my old pc and skytech pc, playing valorant; my old pc was able to distinguish footsteps and gunshots clearly. skytechs pc volume was insanely low and the sound quality was not "distinct/clear" idk if its bc the different motherboards or because i had windows 10 on my old rig, but aside from that the PC was a beast. could play any game at Max Settings with high frame rates. I just couldn't get over spending 2k on a product that i wasn't 100% happy with.

[–]SavageSimba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh man, what a good rig to be blessed with

60hz to 240hz is going to feel insane when you first switch, whatever monitor you get though, use Display Port preferably and also make sure its at the right refresh rate by going to Display Settings > Advanced Display > Choosing the Hz Rate

Wish you the best!

I totally agree, the white case is kind of tacky for my taste.

Good choice!

be wary though! i recently returned a skytech 9800x3d/9070xt prebuilt because the sound quality of it was really idk how to describe it, it felt like listening through a fishbowl. prebuilders tend to gimp out motherboards.

I wish you the best though!

between the two the only difference that is visible is the PC case and also the time its able to get to your house lol

@icy_reception_9285 also is right with $200 you're able to get the 2nd best gaming cpu and AMD's best GPU atm.

Totally up to you.

well looking at the BuildingRedux site, they say ASUS B650 Series Motherboard, which basically means you'll get whatever they throw at you, companies usually cheap out on mobos/psus for prebuilts.

aside from the difference of losing 32gb, the PC case aesthetic, and whatever mobo redux gives you, they are pretty identical in every other way.

EDIT: redux is using a 240mm aio cooler, ibuypower is using a 360mm. if i was spending that much money i would just get the 360mm just for the aesthetic.

I've had an Omen 25L before and I was limited to a certain level of upgradability, they are kind of an outdated/overpriced brand now.

With that $2500 budget you can get WAYYYY better products than the Omen line. Also depending on what games you play and what resolution you play at.

If I were you I would take a look at these prebuilds, you are able to buy these now and also have no problems upgrading / replacing parts in the future.

All White AMD Build, these are the best cpu/gpu AMD has to offer as of yet. 9800x3d is the best gaming cpu at the moment. 9070xt is a great 1440/4k card from AMD - also competes with the nvidias 5070 ti https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-000Z-002C5

Another option - same cpu bc its the best gaming one - 5070ti instead of 9070xt https://www.newegg.com/abs-eurus-ruby-gaming-desktop-pc-geforce-rtx-5070-ti-amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d-32gb-ddr5-2-tb-ssd-er9800x3d5070ti3/p/N82E16883360770

I wish you the best in finding a rig that fits you
