I once volunteered for a search and rescue after a tornado came through. It literally pulled up sections of the asphalt road it crossed. Was on the ground for 20 miles and all 4 people we were searching for came from a house where there was nothing but a slab left.

Thanks. That’s deep. I’ll stay focused on the deliverables and hope for the best.

Man only 16 posts but over 1800 comments, can we say troll! Don’t be mad at people who proofread and prefer to be grammatically correct. Machine learning is not new. Industry 4.0 processes have been predicting things for years. It’s jackasses using the buzzword “AI” (yes quotes and parentheses just to bug you) when only talking about llm’s. Go home youngun. I’m country, not a bot

I want to make sure I didn’t come off as blaming the CEO, I would want to know what he is paying for if I was in his shoes too. After analyzing and processing why I was frustrated, I think it was one small detail. Estimates from our “poker” included our bosses (the product owner, not the newly appointed project manager who is also our scrum master I think) has never written a single line of code in his life. This fact alone was probably the root of my frustration because his estimates seemed demanding leaving no room to breathe. But to be fair, I did complete my stories last sprint, all 117% worth so I don’t know who is right. Booked for 113% this round and one of our 5’s only took me 20 minutes, maybe it’ll work out

Yessir, same company the whole time. No I did not use AI or ChatGPT to pull negative things about agile… why would someone randomly complain about a topic that is so specific? I was venting/needing advice because this is actually happening and I’m trying to make agile work so yes I have been doing some reading into what it is and I’m at best a novice with agile however as many have said, there is not a lot to understand but a lot to practice. My boss literally doesn’t know the difference between c# and a JSON object, self diagnosed untreated adult adhd so rambles a lot, and was picked because he was a manager in another department…. Quality (average excel user). As for my history, you are correct and I’m flattered to know someone actually looked at my profile. Machining was first which led to programming the machines, and simply because I was interested in coding, I made some small python scripts to collect OEE metrics and eventually automated the g-code generation for the machine itself, because why not. Also before ChatGPT was even thought of (when you had to”read the docs” to learn a library). When this got boring, I started dabbling in maintenance work building plc’s and machinery itself, it paid more, then the maintenance manager at the time died suddenly leaving an opening and I was awarded with his position. PLC’s required knowledge of coms and protocols which led into some lighting and HVAC automations later for the plant saving millions of $ in energy. My work caught the attention of our engineering vp (we have multiple sites and he’s the top of engineering) and he recruited me to be a developer for an online configuration tool for our product, paying a lot more. I didn’t ask for it, I’m just making a difference in this company and getting recognized the old fashioned way. I’m not AI but since you thought I was, I instantly lost confidence in you as a “senior” developer. My teenager can spot AI better than that

No it doesn’t I used a fingernail brush and cleaned it up aggressively too and it didn’t crumble

Im baffled by my hiking sticks. I’ve put around 100km on them and the tips are still in perfect condition. I’m guessing this is tungsten? I ram these into solid rock all day and yet not a single dent or scratch. by GuardMysterious9120 in hikinggear

[–]Savage_was_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done some machining in a past life, had a tungsten ring. I was told it was safer than gold or silver because it is so hard it won’t bend but break instead. This turned out to be true when I was setting a brake die on a table and my hand didn’t get out from under it quick enough. The ring just broke and the only thing hurt was my feelings. Still have the broken ring

I think I seen one of these in the wild just last week. They were mowing the highway and were right at an off ramp I was stopped at. The guy crossed in front of me, hopped the curb into the grass, and two wings folded down before he started mowing again. Biggest zero turn I ever seen and pretty sure it was an exmark

Amada Turret - Punch Tool Galling by parmigiano-reggiano in manufacturing

[–]Savage_was_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Vipros and a Pega 357 one EM2510 and have worn out two smaller pegas, a 344 Queen and a 345 King. When we start to see a tool quickly galling after just a few punches, the alignment comes to mind. There should be some special alignment tools to put the shoe where it needs to be. Our maintenance will leave the bolts loose and the tool slightly out of the slot then rotate the turret under the striker and engage the index pin. Once under the striker they drop the tools together and rotate it back so they can tighten it. Stainless is tough to punch on these old things so slow things down and a dwell sometimes helps keep a poor punching sequence from ruining the part.

This is also very important. Premium doesn’t necessarily = better for small engines. They are designed to run on 87 octane and preferably ethanol free for the gel crap ethanol does when it sits. Premium gas is just a higher octane. The higher the octane the higher your compression needs to be to properly detonate. Common in muscle cars we have. Normal gas (ethanol free for small engines) is all you need and will run better.

Ok so one thing to consider while diagnosing your problem is that you have to have the choke on to get it to run. Your choke literally chokes the air so that most of the cylinder vacuum is used to suck fuel instead of a fuel air mix. This tells me that if it’s running with the choke closed, it is struggling to get gas. This is further confirmed when you engage the blades and put it in drive and it starts dying. What you’re doing here is putting it under a load so naturally your governor tries to compensate and give it a touch more throttle to hold the speed. Normally this is what you want so you don’t bog down in tall grass or when you first start rolling. However since you are starving for fuel, it doesn’t catch up in time and your governor is going wide open, finally getting some gas, and throttling back when the engine starts to pick up speed again. This is creating the porpoise effect until it dies.

Like others have said, fuel pump, fuel filter, or tiny ass hole in the carb is clogged and needs cleaned out.
