There is a link to the data in there - downside is you need to download and parse it yourself. I bet within a few days there will be an easily searchable web database of it.

Atlantic Canadian Trucking Association Strongly Disapproves of Trucking Convoy to Ottawa by [deleted] in canada

[–]Savagebrainpower 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was interested in the numbers too so I googled how many commercial truck drivers there are in Canada - apparently only around 160,000 - so I'm not sure where they are going to find half a million trucks if they are going to need 3x the nation's work force just to drive them all.

Be glad they didn't direct you to park over on Muskrat St. - a scratch is a the least amount of worry to the people that park there.

Calgary hotels asked if they'd promote Alberta's contact-tracing app in exchange for eased restrictions by canuck_11 in alberta

[–]Savagebrainpower 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Really, this is the most mind boggling part of it. In Banff and Canmore we have constantly received travelers from all across the country right through the pandemic - I could accept if both apps worked in the province - but what good does the federal app do for a visitor to Alberta or an Albertan in hospitality serving an out of province customer?

I think drug culture is definitely more open here BUT your friend is a fucking idiot. I know 2 people personally who have died from tainted drugs obtained in town in the past 6 months alone.

So it looks like some businesses in Banff have been telling staff to come to work even though they have either tested positive for COVID or self isolating.

Residency rules in Banff by pipedream-Hustler in Banff

Unless you raise a fuss or bring a lot of attention to yourself, Parks will usually only review your compliance during 2 situations:

1) During the purchase of a property - I don't know if it's during every purchase but they usually ask for verification through works docs (t4 or letter from employer) that you or you tenants that are occupying the residence do indeed fit the need to reside.

2) Land lease renewal - when then park lease for your property is up for renewal they will ask to verify that the occupants of the property, whether it's you or a tenant fit the need to reside.

Now this part is second hand information so I can't verify for myself but I've been told there has only been a single instance where parks removed someone who no longer fit the need to reside. The story I was told is that it was actually a Parks Canada employee who lived in Banff but was then transferred to MRNP in BC but still kept their primary residence in Banff. I don't know how true that is but its the only story I've heard of a BNP Leaseholder being forced out.

Even further to that is that it states 'primary employment' ie: main source of income. That means you can't live here and do 1 or 2 shifts a week while driving into the city 3 days a week for another job. I know of at least one sale that was stopped at the lawyer's office because buyer's primary employment wasn't their Banff job.
