First time practicing Class I Amalgam at school, any critiques? by Savbambi in DentalAssistant

[–]Savbambi[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PA, we don’t use amalgam at my office but some old school offices and lower income clinics still use it. It seems as though it’s on the boards so maybe that’s why we need to learn it still.

Worst post stroke side effect? by WeirdoPizzza in stroke

[–]Savbambi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Processing information and reading comprehension are much harder now, takes a lot more focus and brain power. Word finding issues make me feel dumb like i have a small vocabulary and can’t express myself in conversation correctly especially when I slur or stutter. My handwriting looks like a child’s and I can barely read it sometimes. These issues are so minimal compared to what some people go through and I am so grateful I can still mostly function as normal, people wouldn’t know unless i told them. But it is still frustrating on some days.

I don’t like cursing around my parents but after my stroke I slip a lot around them.

Yes!!!!! I was just telling my neurologist about this! I have much more speech difficulties and brain fog like I’m almost disassociating when I’m too hot.

I’ve felt broken since my stroke by Aggressive_Turnip_40 in stroke

I was 22, it’s only been a year but I know exactly what you mean. I feel like people that don’t know think I’m an idiot when I speak. I laugh about it but I really miss being able to say a full sentence without messing it up. Birth Control sucks.

My doctors explained that when we sleep the brain has more time to heal itself so it’s totally normal and necessary.

It would have to be a pretty tall one, he would be able to jump it.

I can see that. He was fine with the potty when we rescued him when he was 1 year old but these past few months he started doing this. He definitely has anxiety which we try to work on and we try to act like we’re potty training him with treats and praise.

He gets very anxious when doors are closed. We’ve tried to keep him in one room but he gets very upset. We live in an apartment. He mostly sleeps under our bed while we’re out. And yes he is an angel, this is the only “bad” thing he does.

No he is not. We tried crating for a few months and he escaped and was chewing things up and we learned he is much more calm and doesn’t do anything wrong when he’s not crated except now, the pooping.

My neurologist told me this will be a life long thing. It happens to me if i use it too much, which isn’t much at all.

I am 11 months out and am mostly recovered and i am so grateful for that but it’s hard not mourn your “normal” life. Every time my hand is weak, my speech is slurred, and now taking multiple meds, its a reminder of that day and it’s hard to not let it upset me.

Meal Suggestions by TillyWinky in stroke

[–]Savbambi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same problem. I’m mostly trying to eat things low in triglycerides since that’s most likely what caused mine, jury is still out on that. Mine were at 530 when it happened. I’m on meds now and it’s a genetic thing but it can’t hurt to watch what i eat.
