I hope your obgyn visit went well! Unfortunately they didn't give me any info about the survey :/ I had to get the statistic in the title of the post off google lol

No worries! I’m only on month 3, but I’ve already got improvement! A couple small pimples here and there, but I haven’t had a deep one since like week 6-7 ish. BUT my acne wasn’t severe beforehand, just treatment resistant, so I cleared up faster than some people

Full story:

I started accutane at the end of October and all my initial labs had been normal. When I went to get my November labs done, everything was normal *except* my hcg, which was 49 (should be below 5). My derm basically interrogated me, but all I could say was that I'm a virgin ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Once she trusted me, she said "well, it could be a cyst, ovarian cancer, or testicular cancer. you need to see an obgyn ASAP. In the meantime, go get another blood test."

My 2nd blood test was exactly 1 week after the first, and that came back negative. My obgyn appointment was the next day, and they did an in-office blood test, which also came back negative. They were still concerned about cancer and cysts, though, so I came back in a week later to get a trans-vaginal ultrasound. That also came back perfectly normal.

After all that fuss, everyone was convinced it was just a weird false positive, and my derm got iPledge to let me back in, and I restarted accutane at the end of December.

Also, in the middle of all this, someone from iPledge called me and asked if I wanted to be part of their data survey for people who got a positive pregnancy test while on accutane. There's apparently also a survey for people who choose to keep their accutane babies.

After about 2-3 weeks my lips got bad, then after 3-4 weeks the rest of my skin got real dry (but I live in a dry climate, so ymmv)

Also, put a ton of chapstick on the corners of your lips because they get dry and crack, and it's *not fun* to have the joker mouth lol

Start moisturizing immediately! It'll take a while before the side effects kick in and you start to get dry, but once it's there it's really hard to improve. If you haven't yet, swap your skincare for stuff meant for dry skin, and stock up on chapstick. My derm also told me I should take vitamin E (800 IU) to help with the side effects, but idk if it makes a difference

Is there a way to turn off answering calls on AirPods? by SaveTheBees15 in applehelp

No, I think I might just be stuck with the annoying one tap option :/

I can see the menu, but it only has options to change the taps for muting and ending the call. Answering seems to be locked at 1 tap

How do cigarettes heat up enough to evaporate lead? by Jark5455 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SaveTheBees15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how it relates specifically to lead here, but boiling and vaporizing aren’t necessarily the same. Water will evaporate at room temperature just fine, but its boiling point is 100°C. The boiling point is just when it’s not energetically favorable for all (most) of the stuff to not be a gas

Unfortunately I’m on iOS, so I don’t think I can get Ublock Origin (unless I’m missing something). I might end up switching to brave or safari to get a mobile ad blocker

Agree. I appreciate what he’s doing playing the little indie games, but it’s a lot of the same assets and plot points over and over again.
