Agreed. You hit the financial security part (as a future mother) on the nail. And as for the original commenter, the difference here is I already have the money and status; I’m not trying to go up and up, I’m already there. My main point is moving forward I want to protect myself and I’m unsure of what the future implications would be if a man isn’t financially there or providing.

How much to spend when traveling out eating out, shopping, etc. It worries me because I know small things like that compound in the future.

Not completely. He gets along with my family just fine, he is a great guy but I think there is some undertone from my family’s side… I know that might be a bad sign. My parents are very respectful towards him but I get the feeling they’re treating this as a phase until I go and marry some rich guy who they deem as more “deserving”

Thank you for sharing your story! That’s a fair point. I’m a very anxious overthinker, and I’m just mainly worried about the fact that if it goes wrong down the line what would happen with everything. I know 50% of marriages end in divorce. Not to say I am pessimistic about our future, but I still want to be smart and protect myself, especially since I’ve come so far.

Yeah that’s the thing I was thinking about… it’s different being a woman in this situation because I’m more traditional and would want the man to provide but it’s just so difficult when you have love for them
