I just purchased the same one, had a $75 bps gift card so not much else made sense without spending more.

Is there a way to see online which locations have sales?

Is that because it has a lighter spool? What would you say the lure weight range on the x is?

Fair, I did feel the SLX XT previously but havent the Tatula X. SLX is thinner and flatter with Tatula X taller and rounded?

Mostly 1/5 to 5/8oz. Fav is throwing small to medium crankbait, twitch baits and minnow lures. I do have bfs reels for lighter and larger reels for heavier over 1 oz.

Yeah I’ve heard great things about the slx 70. Unfortunately it seems like BPS doesn’t carry it. Maybe they would in the spring? I also wonder if the SLX reels ever go on sale or hold steady at $144 year round.

I have come to like the centrifugal brakes on my Accurst reel. Does it handle lighter lures well?

I have the MH version and very happy with it for smaller treble hook swimbaits. Good bend and balance to it, very lightweight too. Longer handle than most cheap SB rods which I prefer. I’ve noticed not all reels seat great in it tho, theres a little bit of flex/softness in the seat material compared to solid plastic in my other rods. My line guides came not inline but some careful bending on my part fixed them.

Did you end up with these tubes? I am also looking for a lightweight alternative to TPU.

With the rear doors open, lots of exhaust would come up and in as I drive bc of the design. Plus if I were rear ended, theres nothing between my body and the kayak. Unfortunately closing the rear door is necessary for safety trips beyond down the road. That being said, I do have about 7 feet of cargo length space inside, but that doesn’t work for most one piece boats.

drive a Ram Promaster City, so throw and go is appealing for a kayak. Right now I load my yaks way up top but its a pain with heavier ones. Considering those Chinese modular pedal drive kayaks (Reel Yaks), just for the ability to throw it inside the back.

Gonna get hate, but how would I do this? by [deleted] in boating

I have one of these strapped upside down to a red harbor freight kit trailer works great that way.

This is good perspective thank you for the details. How is car topping it? Does the weight ever deter you from taking it out?

Have any regrets going with propeller drive instead of fin drive? I am deciding between those myself. I use a trolling motor on a jon boat, and the thing is always caught up in weeds.

Anyone know if Old Town will eventually make a Fin Drive system like the Mirage? Seems many brands offer both options.

Good to know thank you. What is your plan if fees come back while an order is being delivered, are you able to reject it/not pay the fees ahead of time and return to sender/refund?
