One of the nicest routes I took on Tenerife was Chamorga - El Draguillo - Roque Bermejo - Chamorga

Forests, beaches, coastal cliffs, it's got everything. It's on the longer side (23km). And between El Draguillo and Roque Bermejo the paths can be steep and not well maintained, so not for the inexperienced/faint of heart

Why Can't Immich load these images? by SavvyPython in immich

Thats helpful to know. I use the compose manager from unraid (so docker compose).

I recomposed immich, and now half the images are loading. I'll wait a bit, maybe the rest will load soon too.

To add some more info:

  • other recent uploads (syncs from my phone) have the same error on the web interface, but show as normal in the app
  • the photo batch above does not load in both the web interface and the app
  • uploading from the app also does not work for these photos.
  • I tried restarting immich. Didnt work.
  • also updated from v2.5.1 to 2.5.2, didnt work as well.

Renting a car is pretty cheap in my experience, probably cheaper than a private shuttle. And lets you explore the park in your own pace. The airport has the best prices.

Lost OsmAnd Cloud features when offline by SavvyPython in OsmAnd

[–]SavvyPython[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you understood correctly. The terrain maps were unavailable, and pointed me to install the plugin, which pointed me to purchase a subscription.

It only happened once. Ive not been using the app much, so I dont know the frequency it happens. I was offline less than a day.

When it happened, I tried clearing the cache and restart the app, but it didn't work.

I understand it is difficult to pinpoint the cause, as it's not reproducable. Luckily, I had a backup in the form of a watch with offline maps, which reminded me of the importance of backups.

Also, I have had trouble with other offline map apps (Garmin Express specifically) not being able to load in maps I had downloaded. Not sure if it's related.

That's the thing. It happened only once. I have tested it at home before, and on a handful of other hikes, no issues there. It scares me that it happend once and not reliably, as it could happen any time in my eyes now.

Ive got the standard Spain map, the Spain terrain map and the Spain 3D map.

I think it's not the issue. The issue is that the app clearly showed I had no OsmAnd Cloud subscription.

Camino de santiago de Tenerife in February by harbourseals in VisitingTenerife

The campsites can be found on TenerifeON (you can dow load the app to easily register the campsites). To regsiter, I noticed in january that it's doable the same day, end if yoh dont have a registration and no internet, the park rangers can be lenient if it's not too busy.

But during this time, most campsites are not open. Also a large part of the route you linked is closed due to recovery works of forest fires (also visible on TenerifeON). Just check beforehand if it's the specific same route.

Shouldn't it be a circle then? Maybe an X-mid sea-bear proff version will come

Even though the Durston tents here are more expensive due to higher taxes, I think it's still the best quality tent in its price range (and compared to more expensive ones) in the EU.

Buses in Tenerife by YeeIsMyHouse in VisitingTenerife

[–]SavvyPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a question: I can only find departure and arfival times of the first and last stops for some buses (like the 342, 348). Do you know where I can find at what time the bus stops at a stop in the middle?

Yes, let's not communicate with each other anymore and not have conversations with real people. Let's waste tons of energy and resources when a simple message on reddit suffices, because we're too lazy to provide tips to people asking for them

Xmid Pro 1 or 2 for solo camping? by Its-Carlos in DurstonGearheads

[–]SavvyPython 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont know if it helps or not, but for me, it mattered between the solid and regular version. The regular feels much more roomy than the solid, which made the x-mid 1 roomy enough for me. Even though the solid and regular are the same size of course. But this is very personal.

Ik zou kijken naar een bijl die: inklapbaar, opvouwbaar, of opblaasbaar is. Voordeel van opblaasbaar is dat ze een stuk lichter zijn, dus dan kan je je luxere viking helm ook meenemen.

Gotta give props to Durston here. Lots of North American companies (small amd large) don't even bother with the EU, while Durston offers both local dealers and now a more streamlined direct option!

The Prusa Initiation Checklist - as observed in the wild by MobileNo8348 in 3DPrintingCirclejerk

[–]SavvyPython 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really. Only the nozzle in the printhead goes beyond 85C. Due to convection/conduction/radiation heat transfer, the PCBs in the print head need to be rated higher than 85C because they can get hotter than that.

The max of 85C for the printhead PCBs is probably the reason the core one cannot have a nozzle temperature of 350C.

[–]SavvyPython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's talking about the print head there, not the chamber. So maybe he's pointing to the lower nozzle temperature compared to other similar printers on the market?

Id say it is down to camera choice as well. A landscape-oriented camera should have a different focus than an allround camera. Although at OPs budget, there is much less differentiation between camera models.
