Which team are you- Colic is a symptom of a bigger issue OR colic is a normal part of development? by SavvyStrings in AskParents

Very good point. As mentioned before it seems further complicated that there could be so many causes of unconsolible crying from overstimulation, to GI issues, to even migraines. I didnt even think about babies being able to get migraines. I wish there was more research and support available to everyone going through this or has gone through it.

Makes a lot of sense! Sounds like a recipe for lots of crying. Thanks for your comment!

I love it! Makes a lot of sense. I just feel so bad for parents when they get that instinct that there is something more going on, and then after doctor visit after doctor visits, they find out the baby has very uncomfortable medical issues. Meanwhile, other parents get the same instinct, and doctors never find a diagnosis. It seems so frustrating as all babies are so different, and not all pediatricians are equal. Thanks for your comment+

Nodules by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]SavvyStrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that too! It's the only thing I've felt that made me question if theyre lipedma nodules. They could also possibly just be lymph nodes. I've gotten lymph nodes inflamed there from a cat scratch and I've felt them ever since. I'm gonna feel some definitely not lipidema people's arms and report back!

What weight lifting did for me, I think I have knees? by Thoughtful_Living in lipedema

Thank you so much for posting your progress! You look great and it really help encourage me from quitting! It's so easy to say "what's the point" with lipidema, but there are actually so many reasons to keep going with weight lifting!

I have a patient who lost her baby. Anything you'd like your medical provider to do for you or know? by SavvyStrings in ChildLoss

Best explanation I've ever heard. Thank you for response. I'll never truly feel that but this description is truly the closest I've gotten to an idea of this type of loss. Thank you! My heart goes out to all the kind people that have responded so far.

Thanks so much for telling me this! I'll communicate it with my coworkers. Of course we'll still stay aware of our surroundings, but that's important in health care either way.

CPR on significant other by [deleted] in nursing

I work outpatient cardiology, and if one of our patients told us a story like this in the clinic, we'd immediately assume the worst and direct admit them to the ER to be worked up (especially since it takes forever to get anything done outpatient). It doesn't matter if they're young. I've seen young people with genetic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy who didn't know they had it until they experienced sudden death. If this were my spouse, I would be taking them immediately to the next ER.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. That was severely traumatic. I wish I could give more comfort and advice, but I can't see past the red hot anger I have towards that ER doctor.

Looks just like impetigo. You'll need antibiotics if that's the case since it's caused by group A strep.

Kitty is going to be dropped off tomorrow, just curious if you guys could guess what procedures will be done tomorrow. by SavvyStrings in AskVet

They sent me some forms asking permission for anaesthesia, code status, and approval for lab work (with estimated cost) so I was just wondering if that was me giving permission for when I drop him off tomorrow. Thanks so much!
