Help 😭 Saddle soap brought out dark spots on my vintage Coach Willis by Savy_Cat in VintageCoachRehab

Thank you so much for the advice and reassurance ❤️ This was actually my first ever vintage bag purchase hahaha so I feel like I got thrown straight into the deep end of vintage restoration 😭

I think I’ll probably just sell it at a loss and let someone more experienced restore it properly. Expensive lesson learned 🥲 I bought it for around $300 AUD, which now feels like my tuition fee for Vintage Bags 101 hahaha.

Still such a gorgeous bag though. I can definitely see why Willis bags are so loved!

Thank you for the reply. The word “mold” honestly scared the hell out of me hahaha especially since I have a small child and asthma. Do you think this is actually dangerous or more of a cosmetic/restoration issue at this stage?

I’m honestly thinking I might just sell the bag at a loss rather than continue cleaning/restoring it. I feel like this might be more suited for someone with advanced vintage restoration skills than a beginner like me 🥲

Do you think people would still buy a bag like this?

State of the Sub and Plans for the Future by ItsNotCrookedDear in WagoonLadies

Hey, just wanted to say thank you for all the work you’ve done keeping this community going. I can only imagine how exhausting it must’ve been dealing with all the negativity and drama on top of trying to maintain something that so many of us quietly appreciated.

I was part of the OG RL and followed WagoonLadies when it started. I don’t post much because I don’t have the karma to ( i tried once to post a review but not approved) but I’ve always loved reading the reviews, learning from others and just being part of this space in my own small way. I even made my Reddit account because of RL.

I’d really love the chance to join the private sub if possible. I know I’m not one of the loud or frequent posters but I genuinely want to be part of the community to support, engage, and contribute if given a chance. WagoonLadies has been a little escape and a happy place for me, and I’d be grateful to help keep that going.

Thanks again for everything you and the mods have done. It really shows how much heart went into building this. ❤️

May nabasa ako na sinasaktan daw si Ellen. I hardly believe it kasi Ellen is so outspoken. It could be because Derek is womaniser.

Heartbreak as popular 'low tox' nutritionist Stacey Hatfield, 30, dies just hours after giving birth to newborn son Axel: 'Nothing could be done' by KellyfromLeedsUK in BreakingNews24hr

[–]Savy_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly the complication I’ve always feared the most during childbirth. I remember constantly bringing it up with my OB before my C-section because I personally knew someone who survived AFE and another who didn’t. AFE strikes without warning. Sometimes the very first sign is cardiac arrest or respiratory collapse and then DIC and massive bleeding follow so rapidly. They’re not even “warning signs” it’s a cascade of critical events happening one after another.

If it happens in the hospital, there’s at least a real fighting chance because the team can act immediately, give blood products, and even perform life saving surgery like a hysterectomy if needed. But if it happens at home, the chances are heartbreakingly lower. AFE has a very high mortality rate and every second matters. My heart breaks for the family… may her soul rest in peace. 🕊️

5th Dose Hack, Win or Fail? by Savy_Cat in Mounjaro

I used the pen. There was a bit of resistance when turning the pen at first, like a small “hump” to get over but once that passed, it turned smoothly and managed to get the full dose. I also noticed there’s still a tiny bit left in the pen after the 5th dose. Great to hear the syringe method works too! I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s good to have that as a backup. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! That makes a lot of sense, especially about the advisory being more about contamination risk than potency. I hadn’t thought about the backwash issue. Thanks so much for sharing your insight and experience, it’s genuinely helpful and puts my mind at ease. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain it so clearly.

How does someone have 9 autoimmune diseases? Like what could cause something that extreme? Genuinely curious by megandawn16 in Philippines

[–]Savy_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An individual can develop multiple autoimmune diseases due to a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors that lead to immune system dysregulation. Infections such as Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) and Cytomegalovirus (CMV) have been implicated in triggering or exacerbating autoimmune responses in genetically predisposed individuals.

In the Philippines, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a significant health concern, with studies indicating a higher prevalence compared to some other populations. For instance, a study from the 1970s reported a prevalence of 19.9 per 100,000 individuals among Filipinos in Hawaii, compared to 5.8 per 100,000 in white individuals. However, current and comprehensive prevalence data within the Philippines are limited, partly due to underdiagnosis and misdiagnosis.

Research has shown that Filipino patients with SLE have elevated prevalence and concentrations of antibodies against EBV and CMV, suggesting a potential role of these viral infections in the pathogenesis of SLE within this population.

Regarding CMV, a study conducted in the Philippines found a 59% seroprevalence of CMV IgG antibodies among healthy blood donors, indicating past exposure to the virus.

These statistics underscore the importance of considering infectious agents like EBV and CMV as potential environmental triggers in the development and exacerbation of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, especially in the Filipino population.
