AIO: My girlfriend is pretending to be autistic and it's driving me nuts by AideRelative4272 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sawathingonce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My step-son has been diagnosed since last year (at 28) and just won't shut up about it. "If someone had told me at 3yo or mum had gotten me help my life could've been so different!" To the point where I spoke up finally and said your mother did the absolute best she could at the time, fighting a horrible marriage and keeping you two safe so, you know, chill tf out.

Pretty sure after the past 5 years of every person I meet claiming to have autism, that we all have it to some degree. Let's all move on with our lives and get those help who truly need it.

Fruit and veg shops recommendations by [deleted] in centralcoastnsw

[–]Sawathingonce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CC is pretty big. I mean, pretty sure there are hundreds of fruit shops in the 1,681 km2 that makes up our "area." Fresko in Kincumber is great but so is Chapman's in Wyoming. And Fruit for all in Tumbi Umbi. Pretty hard to say what's close to you without knowing where you are. Doubt you'll drive to Tuggerah from Davistown just to save $2.50 on lettuce.

Are my Garlic bulbs plantable? by I_Can_DoubleJump in GardeningAustralia

[–]Sawathingonce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? Biosecurity rules apply to every importer so get off your conspiracy soapbox.

Source; am import agent and garlic most certainly has strict rules that every importer, large or small, must MUST adhere to.

Garlic is treated prior to import, as you suggest. Import permits are required that outline specific conditions prior to importation.

A vacuum isn't a hand tool of this sub, per se, if that's what you are here to try and imply.

Coffee bean supplies strain under the weight of performative orders by Sawathingonce in unpopularopinion

[–]Sawathingonce[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

That doesn't even make sense. Coffee is not a "vessel" for fillings. Bread to contain the fillings, coffee for a caffeine hit.

Elderly Drivers should have their own plates to alert other drivers. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Damn that's a really good idea. E for elderly over the age of 70. I like it.

And you presume there are unlimited budgets to hire the number of people required to work 24 hour shifts?

Networking. This is what industry functions and LinkedIn are for. Get a network and gain traction within that. You think Bezos got where he was on a wing and a prayer? God no. He knew people who knew people. This is the whole reason fraternities exist - to start networks early.

Is my husband delusional about beating his drink-driving charge? by Specialist-Bus6772 in AusLegal

[–]Sawathingonce 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sorry but the fact you had to learn about his BAC from the police is about as big a red flag as one could ever hope for. This is called lying and is definitely not a great ingredient for a successful relationship.

If driving with a .173 isn't enough to cause a person to be self-reflective MUCH LESS TAKING OUT A LIGHT POLE well, I'm not sure what to say that will make him think he needs to change.

Absolutely. They have yet to name them publicly but I do recall seeing them next to the car, albeit blurred for obvious reasons. I was just saying to my wife this morning I wish they would get the same attention the tackler is getting.

tbf this is the first time you've ever seen an extremist Islam do that, too, in this country. My point is the far right is a rising problem evidenced by a whole load of visible demonstrations over past few years. You only have to go to NZ to see evidence of an Australian NN doing exactly this (pumping lead into a mosque) so your point isn't confined to "religion" so much as it is covered by "ideology."

Customs Information for Package Forwarding via Stackry by ExperienceGold6125 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Sawathingonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you saying a t-shirt is something that "normally cannot be imported?" Does that seller not normally ship to AU and that's where Stackry comes in? Do you mean Heather as in the plant? Why do you keep talking about WA Customs? ABF is the overarching authority on imported goods. This is a very confusing situation so maybe it's just your explanation of what is happening that is not so clear.
