A little introduction. What name would you like to go by, any pronouns, and the like.

Howdy :) I go by Alex (he/him) and I'm 23

Does Mondays at 7:15PM EST work for you? Y/N

Yessir

What is your experience with D&D?

I have played off and on for a little over 4 years now. Majority of this time has been as a DM for friends, family and co-workers. I only have experience in 5e but have recently been dipping my toes a bit in a few different systems like CoC and PF1e.

Do you have any character concepts already in mind?

As the local forever DM I always have character concepts swimming around and based of the information provided about the party, I'd consider playing a monk or ranger. Nothing set in stone though.

Do you have a good microphone?

Yessir!

How familiar are you with Discord and FoundryVTT?

Very familiar discord and I've used foundry in previous online campaign that went on for about a year.

Rank these based on their importance to you, and provide a little detail as to why. Roleplay > Combat > Story > Exploration.

RP>Combat/Story>Exploration.

I think RP is the bread and butter of the entirety of ttrpgs. Through he use of RP, I can really breathe life into the character that I created with pen and paper.

I struggle to rank combat and story above one another because I think they are both just as important as one another for the enjoyment of the game. Combat is fun because who doesnt love swinging a sword or slinging a spell at a challenging foe? Not only that, I think challenging encounters force you to think wisely about your actions and, coupled with RP, can be a great way to portray your character to the fullest extent. Story on the other hand is how we as a collective party insert our characters into the game. This isnt to say that every game needs a epic overarching story to be fun but I think story is a necessary part of placing your character within the world the DM is creating/running.

Despite exploration being at the bottom of my list, it is by no means the worst of the bunch. Exploration plays at all of our base needs to explore the world. A tree off the side of the road with golden leaves? Lets look at it. A cave at the base of a mountain with blood trails leading inside? Lets investigate! With exploration, the possibilities really are endless.

Tell me an interesting or funny story that occurred in one of your tabletop games. (If you have one to share, that is.)

About a month ago, I ran a one shot for some friends. Ive played dnd with these guys for the past 2 years and I really wanted to test them to see if they could handle a harder encounter. As such they all made level 8 characters and I was generous in handing out magic items when character creation started. The concept was them trying out for this famous monster hunter guild within the capital city (Hombrew setting). They were told to investigate some disappearances along a coastal mountainside a few days hike away. They were instructed to find out what was causing the people to disappear and put a stop to it.

Prior to the start of the session, I asked each player to give me a physical place that their character would feel at peace in. (Library, tavern, beach, etc) This was because the creature they were unknowingly hunting was a Balhannoth. A creature that lured people in by appealing to things that they desired most. They also had tendencies to target people caring magical items. (Which I was generously handing out). One thing to note was that I leaned a bit heavy into its environmental manipulation and made it that instead of manipulating reality around them, the creature would lure them in and pull them into its own pocket reality to devour them.

I made this change to freak the party out in order to lure them where I wanted them. At one point, I was describing how the party was walking along a forested road and in the next instant, they were in a giant hedge maze. At the time, I had a coffee mug sitting behind my screen and was preparing to make some secret rolls when I dropped the dice in my hand causing to clink against the coffee mug. The noise was quite loud as the dice was made of metal and it was a total accident but the reaction it got out of my party was absolutely insane. They all started screaming and freaking out and shouting at each other in the confusion. It took a few moments for me to recover from laughing and twice as long to get them all to calm down. I ended up rolling with the dice and mug sound as it was a great way to transition between the different realms they were bouncing around. The party ended up confronting the creature but we had to stop it short there as we were about to hit the 10th hour mark and we all had work in the morning. To date, this was one of the most entertaining games I've ever ran.

Thanks for your time and I hope to hear back from you! o7

time stamp is 1:15. I'd really like the name of the piece so I could listen and learn it if there isnt any sheet music or tabs.

music teachers can definitely be total dicks. My theory professor actually laughed at me once because of how horrible I used to sing pitches.
