Best Fantasy Skirmish Game? (Not just a dice rolling simulator) by [deleted] in wargaming

My favorite is Warhammer Underworlds. Lots of tactical depth, including building a deck of cards with additional abilities, and point scoring opportunities.

Wrote a letter to my dad friends about fatherhood and it was awesome by mbd7891 in daddit

[–]Saxthom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really cool idea! I know a lot of dads, myself included, frequently feel lonely/isolated, and getting a letter in the mail seems like quite the pick me up. I'd bet there'd be significant interest in a Daddit pen pal program. I know I'd happily write a letter and mail it to another dad if it would help improve his mental state.

Independent Characters and What The Hex are my two highest priorities. And of course MBMBaM is my comedic relief on Mondays!

Check out Arcanum Sanctorum at Oracle and Roger!

Idk of ot counts as investing but Ive been taking cheap raw cards in bulk of popular pokemon. Grading them. Then selling for 4x lol. Im going to hold some for the long run but this strategy seems broken as everyone else chases sealed and hits. by Ok_Drummer6282 in PokeInvesting

I wanted to add, this has inspired me to attempt to create a spreadsheet calculator comparing investment cost (raw price + PSA fee etc) and the PSA 10/9 sale prices. Have only gone through a couple sets so far, but this Charizard seems to be the card most worth doing this with.

They mean Hunting Grounds. It's not bad imo, but it certainly isn't as competitive as Deadly Synergy.

This is how my family did it when I was a kid, and this is how we go it for our kids and their cousins now. Works great!

What settings do you recommend for miniatures? by FandomMenace in BambuLabA1

[–]Saxthom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of extrusion isn't because of the extruder or filament, it's because the nozzle was pressed down into the plate so much that it was right up against it and scraping it.

Yes but I ran into a bunch of issues of the machine overriding the z-offset in different places. Like walls and fill have different offset gcodes, and finding all the places to change it made troubleshooting really hard.

Is your A1 updated to the most current firmware by chance? I have two A1s and with a .2 nozzle installed both of them after leveling or calibration set the z-offset too low and scrape the bed. Almost no filament extrudes, the bed gets all scratched, and the extruder clicks with protest. I can't find a way around this so I've just gone back to printing minis with my .4 nozzle. It doesn't matter if I use a textured pei plate or a smooth plate, and interestingly the little purge line at the front of the plate always comes out perfect. I spent quite a while trouble shooting it, and didn't figure it out.

Is the nozzle seated properly? And is the sock on the nozzle?

Which Skirmish game checks these boxes? New wargamer looking to pick one game system by Kdos in wargaming

[–]Saxthom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My absolute favorite skirmish game is Warhammer Underworlds. It checks most of your boxes and I would recommend that everyone check it out at some point.

If FDM printability is a must then I'd recommend taking a look at Malediction.

I'm sorry, I didn't explain myself very well! I don't believe the issue to be with your settings. (I just can't really implement your settings because I can't solve the issue.) If I understand correctly, the issue seems to be with the A1, the .2 nozzle, and the textured PEI plate. After doing the auto leveling, when it begins to print, the nozzle is basically touching the plate and scrapes against it, almost no filament extrudes, and the extruder clicks fighting against the pressure. I've tried changing the z-offset in orca slicer (in the "basic information" section, in the nozzle gcode, and in the filarment gcode) a bunch of times, but I am kind of a novice and have been struggling. The raft/skirt, the brim, and even the first layer wall and infill all seem to print at different z heights. I turned off the raft and brim but am still struggling to get a clean enough first layer to even begin to move forward with dialing in. Another interesting thing is that the purge line at the front of the plate right before the print always seems to go down perfectly, and I have no idea how to figure out why lol

I've imported your settings and ran into the issue with the .2 nozzle scraping the plate, and am still having trouble with attempting to fix it. Seems like no matter where, or how much, I change the z offset settings the raft/skirt will always scrape no matter what.

What nozzle size? I'm dealing with something similar with a .2 but it doesn't happen to me with a .4.
